The big problems are that Noteboom is coming off a torn Achilles. Jackson has blood clots. Edwards has concussions. All 3 May not be back. Allen's knee is a mess. Shelton was hurt and came back. Maybe he can be penciled in.
Ancrum got hurt on like his first snap. Bruss impressed nobody and had a major injury.
Right this sec, Havs is the only sure thing.
He was healthy and produced. The vets did okay, but who knows? Need like 8 or 9 solid guys. We have 1. Also, TEs do a lot of line blocking and we have 1 of those. Need 4. We have boatloads of receivers and nobody to block for them.
The crux of the article was that Rams had 3 ‘weak links’ when it came to sacks allowed. The rest of the many players allowed a respectable number of sacks, surprisingly.
Noteboom (who was playing hurt before the knee injury)
Allen (constantly playing hurt or sidelined due to injury)
Edwards (was already destined to be a goner before the concussions)
The author suggested upgrades for these 3 weak links are already on the roster which would free Snead up for BPA at another position of need.
Personally, I advocate drafting a stud OG/OC or LOT that might fall and shuffle Jackson between LOT and LG accordingly. That way Rams don’t have to be over reliant on either Bruss or Anchrum.
As an aside, I do expect our new OL coach to be more effective than Carberry was.
We both agree that TE needs an infusion of talent and coaching. Been neglected far too long. Made me crazy seeing those playoff teams with their many stellar TE weapons.
