I think you called it correctly regarding the Fish. If there was one thing he was good at, it was knowing what tough, good defensive players looked like.
I still think McVay as the HC and Fish as the DC would have been a great match. I don't ever recall the Fish "rolling out" a "soft" defense. You knew you were in for a tough physical fight whenever you played a Jeff Fisher team...at least on D! LOL
The problems with Fisher's D is that he had a reputation and the team came into games already targetted by the refs.
They couldn't so much as look sideways at a QB without drawing a penalty.
In spite of being "targeted" they still played a very aggressive physical style. They never seemed intimidated or got pushed around.
Sometimes you have to "take" a penalty when playing like that. I am sure they "got away" with more than they were penalized for!
#HelmetHornsMatter
“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
