Hmm... so we're going to offload this on the coach with no mention of his poor attitude. That's the reason we were looking to trade him, not necessarily his production. And I'm glad that swung back the other way, but what happens if we do bring another back in? That's just gonna go away and not rear it's ugly head again if he has to split snaps? Color me skeptical.
If we can get play for him (and yes, that's a big if), I'd get a RB in this draft, along with a undrafted FA behind Williams and be fine with it. This offense is going to (needs to) change this off-season, so his knowledge of the current system is moot.
IMO, betting on Cam to be the horse for 2003 is quite the bigger risk.
