He always says about him evaluating himself, but do you really see any evidence that the evaluation changes anything? I think giving that job to Brown keeps him in house, and allows him to get closer to what is entailed with the OC job. Also keeps Sean in his love of OC duties....(just don't see him doing a 180)
He got some experience as TE coach and I agree it didn't seem to do well, but then again a smart guy can learn a lot, by not doing well, learning by mistakes in an area he had zero insight on. Getting a taste of TE coaching had to open his eyes a bit more...if he's a smart as I think he is....even if he did not pan out in his short time frame there....It was a short times frame, do you think the issues with the line had anything to do with it? Poor blocking so TE's were caught up in the line mess? The in an out of QB's all year didn't help either......
Not making excuses for the guy, but a change of position coaching could have been much smoother in normal expectation.
