The Los Angeles Rams are anxiously awaiting Sean McVay’s decision as he mulls whether he wants to continue coaching or step away from the game for some time. He’s using the next few days to think things over and decide what’s best for him and his family, but right now, his future is very much uncertain.
During exit interviews on Monday, several marquee players shared their thoughts on the situation. They all support McVay no matter what he chooses, but none provided any insight on whether he will actually be back in 2023.
They just want what’s best for McVay, and they haven’t thought about what it would be like to play for another coach.

“I just continue to talk to him, be there for him,” Stafford said. “Continue to support him in whatever’s best for him. He’s given a lot to this organization, a lot to us as players. Being a head coach, I’ve never done it, but I’d imagine it’s a trying job. I think he’ll take some time to figure out what’s best for him and what’s best for this program and this team moving forward, and I’ll support him (with) whatever he wants to do.”
Stafford was also asked point-blank if he thinks McVay will be back in 2023. He quickly responded, “I don’t know.”

“That’s really something that he needs to – I don’t want to address that, so that’s really a question for him,” Kupp said. “Obviously, I want the very best for him. I want the best for him and I know how much he loves this game, how much he loves the guys in this locker room, how much he loves the guys that are here. Regardless of what his decision is, I know how much he cares about this organization and the people here. At the end of the day, I just want the very best for him. Therefore, whatever he ends up deciding to go with or whatever is going on or whatever he’s processing, just wishing the very best for him.”
Kupp also isn’t sure if McVay will be back, saying he doesn’t want to speculate on the matter.
“I don’t want to speculate on that.”

“McVay’s my guy,” Floyd said. “It’s more than football as far as our relationship. I care about McVay the person rather than a coach. If he feels like he needs to take a break, take a break. He’s still young, can come back and coach again. Hopefully he stays so we can get this thing back on the right track so we can get back to the Super Bowl. I hope he takes his time and makes the right decision.”

“He got the right to do anything and everything he wants to do,” Ramsey said. “If that’s what he wants to do, take as long as he need, I guess. Figure out what he’s gonna do with his future, but that ain’t my business. I ain’t never really got into nobody else’s business or what they got going on because there’s a lot of factors that can go into all types of stuff like that, so that ain’t really my business. I just do what I do and figure out how I need to move according to how things may shake up or shake out.”

“A person like him, we have a good relationship,” Fuller said. “I know that if he’s debating anything, I know he puts a whole lot of thought into so whatever his decision is – if he is mulling stuff over – I know he’s taking it very seriously and he’s going to do what’s best for him and his family.”
