Just cannot thank everyone enough. All I set out to do with that post was to thank everyone for their support and to really just explain why I may have to dial back the draft stuff a little this year as I have a ton of real life stuff on my plate. But with all the heartfelt responses, my resolve is stronger then ever.
And just as a point of clarification, my wife is actually the girls' stepmom, their mom is in Minnesota. So she isn't walking away from her biological kids. I just don't want her painted as some abandoner. She did a heck of a lot for the girls and went above and beyond tbh. And even though she is gone, she talks to them daily and is still someone they can talk to and get advice from. She just wasn't happy here, in North Dakota. I get that.
Lastly, I said I was ill equipped to manage a house. I should have said a house I don't want to manage. I love cooking, don't mind grocery shopping, I do laundry, run the dishwasher, but man do I hate dusting and mopping and sweeping and changing bedding and scrubbing the shower and stuff like that. Not sure anyone does. lol
Anyhow, its a great day here. 5 degrees above and the sun is shining. Its hard to explain to someone that has never experienced cold how 5 degree sun can feel so good on your face the day after it was 17 below zero. The NDSU Bison won their 8 NC in the last 9 years beating James Madison. Should be some good football on today and I made a lasagna to throw in the oven for supper. So yeah, life is good and it can only get better.
