They have THE greatest TE of all time to go with THE greatest QB of all time.
A quick scan of Rams roster shows a slight tail off in both positions. When that happens it helps to have better wr's.

There were enough good players that the offense could have produced much more in the last few years.
Under McVay I have a lot of hope that the offense will do what it can with what it has. As I've said in previous posts; you don't need All Everything WRs to have a really good passing attack and offense. Who does New England have? Yeah, Edelman is really quick and tough; but he's not a guy who takes the top off of defenses. In fact who does NE have who takes the top off of defenses? But, because of their unique abilities and the coaches' willingness to use what they offer, Edelman and Amendola drove people nuts with their quickness and their combo routes. Very effective and difficult to guard. Neither is better than a 4.55 long speed guy and neither is bigger than 5'10". Hardly prototypical NFL WRs.
But, I just can't get too excited until I actually see our guys play other teams for real. In Preseason everybody is undefeated, and every team and their fans believe their team is going to better because of (fill in the blank).
I have just been too disappointed over the past decade to jump on the bandwagon and start expecting a high level of success.
Good progress, an offense that is trending upward and is NFL worthy and entertaining will go a long way towards making me feel better about the Rams.
But for now, I think we have plenty at WR. The problem will be that some of them are very young and raw. Kupp is really more like a vet. So Woods and Kupp together will give us competency. Austin should as well. TE, I don't know. REALLY young there: two 2nd year guys and a rookie. Yikes. But young and talented no doubt. Gurley? I still have my doubts. I'm a little concerned that we might have one of those guys who is better on the practice field than in the game; he looks like Tarzan but plays like Jane when it counts.
R.I.P. Nelson aka TonyHunter87 1971 - 2017 far too soon..
Your last words to me: "Your a great guy RFIP. I was very sad when you left the board, and your son, but was glad to see you back. Take care my friend, may God be by your side." 09/09/2017 12:58AM
No Nelson, you were a far better man than I, and I am sure an awesome husband and father as well. I will miss you my friend. -RFIP
