That's all they did with Keenum last year. They ran the ball, played good defense and rarely put Keenum in a position to make plays. He only averaged 26 pass attempts per game and that's including the outlier SF game where he stunk on ice.
Just from what I've seen so far,
I think Goff wouldn't be any worse than Keenum was last year. If they'd give the kid all the reps in practice and more preseason playing time, he'd be just fine.
But no, we've got to get Keenum ready.
Keenum probably process what he see much faster than Goff. That is the gap between these guys, one is reacting to what is going on and the other has to think about the situation then process what he is supposed to do. Jared is performing much slower than Case.
The past year with Sean Mannion sitting on the bench allowed him to understand and process the on field game of the NFL. There are comments by players saying he is so much different than last year because of the time he was learning from the bench he only attempted 7 pass.
If that is what Jared Goff needs then I am good with that situation also....on the bench he can learn plenty.
