Not sure if you're still reading, but here are some replies. I very much appreciate all your interaction with us over the years. 1. It's one thing to apologize about just plain getting the rules wrong, like the league has done sometimes, and another thing to apologize for an officials snap judgement. PI has always been a controversial judgement call. And many of you may have just wanted aby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Look, nothing will change the numbers. But when you split the chart like that, I thought to myself "I wonder what the trendline in each individual section looks like?" So I did before bye by itself and after bye by itself. If we're going to go by trendlines then the answer to your question "when is he going to start playing better?" is that he already is. And I just realized that they don't have NFL network as part of the package that I bought. It was on there last season. Oh well. The schedule of games that is NFL network-only doesn't thrill me that much anyway. It's mostly NFC/AFC South stuff. Most Thur/Sun night games are on Fox but only a few aren't. Anyway, that's not my point. My point is that I went to the nfl.com website, aby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Once he knows he's out of the play, he's just sort chugging along in the general direction. Yes, the heat and RH were getting to the players.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Not just saying that. Keep it coming. I appreciate knowing your opinion on Hager. I just didn't see much of him at all in what I looked at One thing I thought about doing but didn't, was to look at some of the good stops in the running game by our defense and see what we did right. This IS an important game. Home field could be on the line in playoffs again, like it was as a result of last's years regular season loss to them. If Goff playing well is part of winning this game, then yes, by all means, Goff must play well. For the team. For the Rams. Not just so people won't criticize Goff. I have been trying not to get into any back and forth, back and forth. I think the trend is real, not merely an artifact. Going back to the Detroit game, I said at the time that he didn't look right to me in that game. I meant "not right" just looking at him on the bench. Pale, and a distracted look on his face, like he was dealing with something. I thought maybe he was sick orby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Like you, I would love to see that trend line take a new angle. But I'm willing to wait longer before raising a red flag. I think that's the only difference here.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Or "shouted down". This is NOTHING like the Bradford discussions. Nobody is being called a "hater" or a "sniffer". Nobody is saying anybody else isn't a real Ram fan. Some people are going to see Goff and his struggles differently than others. People who criticize him might be right, but when others jump in to defend him that's not some sort of persecutiby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
If Goff continues to play poorly, and spirals downward to being a bust, then a lot of us are just wrong. On the other hand, if he at some point starts to play better again, and has a good career for the Rams, then 2 steps forward 1 step back is exactly what we're in the middle of right now, not a "crutch", or something people are just making up.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I firmly believe Goff will continue to get better as a QB. And he has to if the Rams are going to reach the pinnacle. But as I believe it was JamesJM put it, it might be two steps forward, one step backwards. I've said in past posts that it is unrealistic and unnatural to expect a steady, linear progression from game to game. He's trying to change this year. Why didn't they seem to expect McCaffrey to be the main focus? Who else was going to beat them? The other two names that popped up watching the game were TE Olsen and WR Samuel, but why not take away McCaffrey and make those guys beat you? McCaffrey was wide open a bunch of times in the passing game, but they didn't look like sophisticated routes, he just wasn't covered very tightly. Asby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
The purpose of this post is to take a look at some of McCaffrey's big runs and try to figure out what went wrong. I'm not looking for someone to "blame" exactly, but the way that he was able to gash the Rams several times just made me want to see what was going on there for my own satisfaction, and I thought I'd share it with the rest of you. Of course I don't know all the defensivby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

It seemed clear to me that Newton INTENDED to throw a slightly forward pass out to his receiver. The receiver was expecting it to be out in front of him and had to lean back awkwardly to try to catch it. It definitely did travel backwards (by about a half yard), but it was deflected by Ebukam. I've seen numerous occasions where a forward pass is batted backwards by a dlineman, and the ofby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

Which teams are really going to be good and which are not. Last year week 1 the Buccaneers beat the Saints 48-40 to open the season. IN New Orleans. Didn't tell us a darn thing about those two teams. Same goes for players. A good start is better than a bad start, but there's a lot we don't know yet, about the Rams and other teams as well.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
could he be following orders, so to speak? I've actually wondered this ever since Sean McVay was hired. Does Sean tell Jared "Turnovers will kill us faster than anything, especially on the road. Better that you take what you see as 'safer' throws, than that you go gunslinger on us and throw a bunch of ints. But it seems we get so many fans freaking out whenever we don't have a 30 point lead. I'll wager very few teams in NFL history have racked up a 14-3 road record in a couple of years span.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
