Good post. Good question. YES, there is a better option. The better option is not give WIliams 95% of the carries this year. Let Corum and Hunter share the load (one, or both) and see if either emerges. The three most disturbing facts about Williams are: 1. Williams yards per rush beyond what was expected given his blocking was ZERO. Very low among starting RB's. 2. Lack of runs overby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. It's a relatively easy, favorable schedule.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
den.... why are you biased about Hamilton? Curious here.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm thinking..... 1. Hunter is good, but he sits most of season except some occasional carries; assuming Williams and Corum are healthy. 2. Ferguson gets some early season snaps, but increases play time as the season progresses. Big impact by season's end. 3. Stewart pushes Young from day one, and gets some of Young's snaps, and gets more and more snaps in exotic Ram defensive calls asby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Great video!! Thanks for posting. Beast indeed. And Stewart was a respected leader on the Michigan team. Looking forward -- Byron Young is good, but at times his play goes quiet. He'd better crank up his play. It's not unlikely Stewart steals some reps from Young with his tenacity, effort and results. Stewart was VERY PRODUCTIVE (pff scores) at Michigan. The Rams like drafting theby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree that the present narrative is dubious. Rams wanted Taylor I suspect. But, Furguson was probably rated just a small notch below Taylor, and he might have some strengths Taylor doesn't have (and vice versa, of course). I do think that by trading up for several picks in the mid-rounds, the Rams got some guys they wanted pretty badly (rounds 3, 4, 5....). Should be fun to see how these plaby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
This tankathon is a great website. I never knew it existed. Thanks Merlin. Well done. Glad I stopped by these discussions today. This time of year is pretty dead in real content but Tankathon is worth discovering. And nice we have extra draft picks next year even beyond the extra 1.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm basically in agreement with the thrust of Deadpool's mockdraft. Fantastic job, as usual... Some nuance opinions I'll add... Snead would probably love to trade down, out of round one, and acquire more picks. Assuming that is NOT possible,.. 1. I predict the Rams would take Mason Taylor if avail (or C Loveland/TE/Michigan-but probably won't be there): with pick #26 (OR draft a Tackleby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
As usual, terrific job Deadpool. A few differing views or "warning signs" on the deadpool mock: 1. I highly doubt Mason Taylor lasts that long. He is supposed to be rising and how 3 TE's are expected to go in round 1. 2. I highly doubt Williams (call DB) lasts that long. He just gets rave reviews from some. I see him going in round 3 at the latest. 3. I would take ND's Kiby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the Rams WANT to draft a RB this year. Kyren is a warrior. He is a leader. High character player. He also fumbles way too often, and doesn't have breakaway speed. If Kyren is at all too expensive for the Ram's taste, I think they go to plan B wiillingly draft a breakaway speed back to split time with Corum in the post Kyren era. Keep an eye on someone like Dylan Sampson (tenn-Rb) in the dby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I've been posting about my serious worries about KW since the season ended and he finally stopped fumbling. As other posters in this thread accurately point out, KW's fumbling AND lack of breakaway speed/ability combine to make him a good back, and nothing more. The Rams can do better, and this is the draft (very deep at RB) to take a swing at RB in round 3. Expect the Rams to take a veby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I want more picks!! I would like to see a trade down from 26, for a 2nd round pick (but not the end of the 2nd) and a 3rd and maybe a 5th (some trade like that). Rams have no 5th rounder now (and that's been a great round lately for the Rams!) Thoughts from all you gurus?by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree, Rams43, with each of your positional analysis and what the Rams will "probably" do. I am increasingly thinking at 26 the Rams will take a WR or CB, not a RB, but I think all three are in play at 26.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams are too close to winning it all to not maximize getting talent that contributes NOW.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't count out Rams drafting a stud RB very early. Also, given the Rams filled some of their most pressing needs with recent signings; Landman, 'Spoon, I think the probability for drafting a RB increases. I'm convinced the Rams want to be more explosive on offense and will draft accordingly. McVay has spoken several times this off season about needing to be much more versatile on offenseby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with your post MTRamFan. Landman will be a big help against the run (and we sure need it) and a big improvement over R'boom from last year. He also improved with his grades against the pass over time while on the Falcons. Another factor: Landman will be better behind the Ram DL than he was on the Falcons, who have a horrible DL.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Signing players to one year contracts has very little bearing on them making the team. Rivers not be on the roster this year. Don't we expect the Rams to grab a RB in this years super strong RB draft class? I do. I do think Rivers will make it based on his running, blocking, and special teams value; but he will drop down to the #4 back for the Rams, as a newly yet to be drafted RB (one witby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Les Snead could explain why the Rams signed Murchison, but he won't. On this sort of deal, I just assume he's the right player for the right price to have a depth role. Also, I'm not convinced some of these very low value deals/players are even going to make the roster. I don't think the teams are married to them.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you Cooper Kupp for all you did for the Rams and us fans!by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Good luck except against the Rams. He played very well as a Ram and made some BIG catches for us in BIG moments. I wish him well.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you about Poona. Pleased as punch with this signing. Poona's PFF grades indicate he is much better and more consistent player than Brown. Grades take into account EVERY snap. Not a bad way to assess a player's performance. He will be in the rotation and get some rest now and then on passing downs.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
PFF grades are unbiased and consistent, and although some debate the accuracy on the margin, most everyone believes they are in the ballpark of being accurate. The point: Shelton was the 12th highest graded center in the league last year. Not too shabby. Limmer was horrible as 35th ranked center, and Limmer's pass blocking grade of 44 passes the eyeball test - he was a sieve.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Great news! And Shelton can play guard. Coleman 12th in PFF grades for centers last year (grade of 66.4) (similar to that run and pass blocking) FYI Limmer is 35th (grade of 55.5) (Limmer's pass blocking grade was 44-bad score)by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you. Damn, we need another center. Too many of us fans looking at Limmer with rose colored glasses. He is a weak link in the OL.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Does anyone know, is Shelton a Ram? Does anyone know the status? Given Limmer is a consistently poor pass blocker -- and mediocre play overall -- I'd welcome competition at center. Yesterday was a great start. Heck, I never heard of Poona, but we are read up him now -- all signs point to Poona being a great rotational piece. He seems to be the run stopper we all hoped Brown would become. Oby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Learning from Eagles.. keep adding quality DL-- now, we add another in Poona. Great PFF grades and great work ethic reportedly. Love this signing. Will help the run defense a ton.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Limmer's PFF grades were mostly POOR. The weak link on the ram's line overall. I think they find a replacement somewhere. We shall see.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Can someone explain...? This designation is some sort of signal.. but what is that signal? Is this good news for a player...? Does this mean the Rams think McMahon can play/start? (Limmer had a horrible overall PFF score and I have to think the Rams don't want him starting again)by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
