This isn't intended to be piling on but from the Ram's perspective, I hope to heck they realize that the reality is, Bennett stinks. He shouldn't make the team, or practice squad. I agree with your four-- Jack Youngblood, David "Deacon" Jones, Warner, and Aaron Donald -- for Mt. Rushmore. It is hard, though, to keep tackle Orlando Pace off the list. DOMINANT player. I think he made 7 or 8 straight all pro teams. He'd be my fifth best Ram, and he may have had a better career than Jack Youngblood or Warner. Warner's Ram career was fairly short. My opinion of two keys to a playoff season in 2024 - 3 months ago
Just my view.... 1. The defensive backfield as a unit goes horrible play to "average" play (middle of the pack statistically) in the NFL. This means the signings (two) at CB work out and CC works out at safety, and maybe KK (third round pick) plays well (or they sign a safety). My broader point; last year our DB's were a sieve. Great question! How will we be different.... 1. Our defensive backfield may (hopefully!) go from worst (horrible) to average (middle of the NFL pack) and that's a big jump and great news! 2. Yes, they do. Your small post is important and is a big bet for the Rams! I wish I was as confident. Kupp's age and re-ocuring leg injuries don't give me lots of confidence he'll make it through a long season and playoffs. During the draft this year, some other announcer on TV set with Kiper on national TV said Mel Kiper should be in the Hall of Fame. Kiper was sitting there, and was sort of surprised. but everyone on the set realized "yes, he is right, Kiper should be!!". I never thought of it before, but KIPER SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME! Last year our DB's were horrible. Maybe worst in league statistically. I can't recall where I saw that, but it sure looked that way. They couldn't cover a chair. Interesting ideas about the trade up's and trade down's.... If the Rams love an edge....then I don't see them trading down. (Note the IF, and LOVE). Snead has his bobby wagner rule! He traded down (or passed on, I can't recall) and lost Wagner years ago. He loved Wagner. He vowed never to break that rule again. My point is Snead loved a player and didn't grab him.
