Key building block for next year. Kyren Williams will sleep better tonight. Therefore, so will I.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I tend to agree a WR is more likely in round 2 than round 1. Prediction #1: My bet is that Snead trades out of the first round to get a 2nd and a 3rd and 4th, or something like that. Prediction #2: if a stud WR drop (or TE/WR Bowers) or Brian Thomas (LSU--4.35 40 or something like that at combine, AND 212 pounds) to Rams in round one they may pounce OR even trade up a few spots to get whby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Either high in the draft, or FA, or both, the Rams will invest in a WR. Why? Clearly the Rams need an edge and DB's (especially corners). And they will secure those positions. But the Rams win because they have a great passing attack. Right now, the WR position is fragile. That's the reality. To leverage McVay and Stafford - who are the core of said great Ram's pass game, Snead can't aby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree.. he can return as a back-up and depth.....by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Under your scenario: WR.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I've been saying for months the Rams will land a big time WR by draft or trade. Why? They may have needs (e.g. DB, edge...) but what makes this team win is their pass game. It has to be elite and right now, the WR group is sort of average with Kupp not the player he was. That's not acceptable to McVay. Stay tuned: a big time WR on the way!by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree Rams need a corner (BADLY), and a pass rushing edge, and depending on FA results -- maybe a guard and tackle. I also think a very high need is a WR. With Stafford's time likely to be short (a couple years?). With McVay as coach. And with Kupp a big question mark. Our WR corp may be mediocre. Can't win that way. Pass game has to be top-notch. Rams can't squander having Stafford atby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
They have much, much more information than any fan about every aspect of each Ram player and possible FA and draft choice. It's not even close. As fans it is fun to predict what the Rams will do and evaluate their moves, but other than that, we'll know next year and beyond how Snead/McVay braintrust did. Till then, I trust them -- and given their track record, that trust has been earned.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Tutu is cheap to keep around, and importantly, don't forget Kupp's nagging injuries that may foreshadow father time - wear and tear -- reducing his contributions. Tutu is a cheap backup who showed last year he can contribute at some crucial times. Tutu's hands have been surprisingly good, and he is running a decent array of routes, and he's by far the fastest receiver on the roster. Tuby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Unless there is a really good alternative use of the Ram's money, I would pay Dotson. He was a HUGE factor literally and figuratively in igniting our running game... which led to great things. The running game helped Stafford immensely, and it gave us an identify of toughness vs. a pure finesse passing team that couldn't run the ball at all. I don't want to go back to having a crap guardby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
yes, I have read this before...two thirds, this and next year. But reading it is not translating to the draft orders being published. But in all the official third round draft order there is no evidence/listing of the Rams extra third for Morris? Has anyone seen a third round order showing this extra third round pick?by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Can someone clarify? We were supposed to get (I thought) an extra third round pick in 2024 and 2025 for losing Raheem. I have not seen this extra third round pick on any draft order listing I can find. (An extra third round pick is gold! I hope we get one this year) Thanks.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
If the first round pick were high enough -- TOP 10, for example, yes, I'd trade Donald for sure. It's a matter of age and future return. The Kupp answer is based on his health. Given what I saw last year, YES, I would trade Kupp if the second round pick were in the first half of the second round.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Don't sleep on Hunter Long. Fact - He can play.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Is this official? I haven't seen it as "hard news" yet. If the Rams get this pick, is it tradable? Adding an additional third rounder is nothing to sneeze at. (Thanks for any info)by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
The time window with BOTH Stafford and maybe McVay is potentially very short...draft guys who can help NOW.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams might well covet Brian Thomas. WR. LSU at #19.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Cromwell was a stud. Great option QB in college, and a stud safety in the pro's. Bertelsen (sp?) was a rock solid RB. VERY GOOD punt returner if I recall correctly. Didn't the Rams choose Bertelsen and Lawrence McCutcheon in the same draft, 2nd and 3rd round draft choices, respectively. McCutcheon was even a better RB than Bertelsen. A very good tandem.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He might be a good partner with McVay. Bringing some experience, maturity, hard-ass attitude to the table. Please NOT STALEY. Dismal failure with Chargers. And I know some people in the Ram's organization think he's arrogant and a know it all, and difficult to work with.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Good point! I agree Snead tries to trade the first round pick, but more likely to accumulate additional draft picks (e.g .a late first and maybe a 2nd and 3rd/4th) this year. The problem is that the Ram's first round pick this year is basically in nowhere land. Not high enough for other teams to get a bluechip who the covet (first round graded player). So Snead may be stuck with the firstby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Snead (with McVay by his side--witness the videos of them discussing picks) has done an amazing job with drafting and free agency to navigate a one year turnaround! Impressive as heck, but it is not done yet. This year's draft -- 11 picks I believe -- and FA need to keep the Ram's ascent going.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
My label should read: An avid Rams fan for 50 years, and I never cheered for that Patriots to win a game in my life (despite living in New England)... .... but Tom Brady is simply the best football player of all time. No one outworked him and as the pressure in games mounted, he got calmer and calmer, and better and better. Damn, he put daggers into my Ram's heart more than once.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
No matter who is our DC, our defense needs an injection of new Jimmy's and Joe's more than new X's and O's. Bring in two new corners, one good safety, a good DE, another good LB AND hire a good DC.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for posting this. That was great, Kobie. And I guess he's plays some instruments also. Pretty good DT also!! I'd love to hear Rosie Grier sing, under the boardwalk. If anyone finds that, post it please.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with Merlin on his prioritization! WR is #2 and Rams will go big in that direction. Highly under-rated need by other posters :-))by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree! A new starting WR is essential for next year. Reality: Rams need to have a great pass attack to win. The pass game is their magic sauce, "differentiator", competitive advantage, core competence -- you name it. Kupp is fading. He was great, but his time has come and gone. Rams will face that fact, and use draft or FA to get another excellent WR to start next to Puka. Aby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree. Rams waited too long since we know two things with near certainty: 1. Pressure on Goff means bad Goff. 2. No pressure on Goff means good Goff. At least good defensive adjustments were finally made and the pass rush pressure ramped up. Goff was bad Goff, as expected. I was hoping for a five man pass front pass rush in the first quarter.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
We need 2-3 new DB's. 2 CB and 1 safety. OLB/Pass rusher WR: a big need. I've been pounding the table on this. Rams can't have Stafford and McVay (both combine as the heart and soul of this team: the pass game) and not get a stud WR in this off season. Kupp is now a 3/4 guy. The years have just taken their toll on him. Sure, Tackle. And other good players littered in.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I wonder why McVay made such a dumb decision as to punt? THey need to have this contingency thought through before a game. Go for it. It's the best choice by far probabilistically.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
