I'd like to see the raw number of QB pressures each rookie has. I bet Fiske has the most. And I bet he has the most pressures per play, or some normalized version of that measure. He will get better against the run over time. Sweat would be a good fit for the Rams though. Next year, we need a big, tough run stopper to augment Davis next year. After week 15 of 18, the Rams are in first place in the NFC West! Gotta love it!! After the onslaught of early season injuries and the dismal start to the season, credit McVay, Snead, and company -- and all the players -- for a very impressive turnaround! I've posted a few times here that Hunter Long is a sleeper. He was a third round draft pick. He just never clicked in Miami. At BC, he was a great receiver against ACC competition, and the ACC was much stronger then. He was first team all-ACC and second team all American as a senior. The Bills are just too good this year... I have visions of the Bills moving the ball up and down the field running (including Allen on impromptu runs) and passing... scoring 5-6 TD's..... And the Ram's offense bogging down as the Bill's take away the Ram's run game... With 2/3 of Sofi filled with Bill's fans! Great point -- and how about them eating a double portion of Crow? Fiske has repeatedly flashed big time performance and has enormous upside. Snead paid the right price to move up and pay for quality; despite all the whining about "overpayment"! Snead had conviction about a player (Fiske), and got him! Thanks Shecky! Much appreciated. PFF does a great job. It isn't that they are "right" with their grades, but they pretty darn close to being right, and they are very consistent. Nice to see data which shows reality, rather than watching on TV, and having little idea how most of the individual players are grading out. Thanks Ram43 and all the other great posts. I'm taking notes! But-- we need a dynamic WR as a top 2 or 3 off season priority!! Rams have the lowest number of chunk plays in the league! Not a winning statistic. HAS TO BE FIXED!! Great answers! Lots of good thinking and ideas.... I guess I'm not convinced Williams is that much better than Corum at this point. Corum has such limited carries this year, we have almost no data on him. In recent games, he is showing some more juice and confidence. We KNOW the Rams coaches aren't stupid. In fact, we know McVay is a darn good coach. So what's the deal? Is Corum missing something? Is he so small he just can't block? Maybe he was over-rated, flashed early in camp, but is just a pedestrian back and can't earn playing time. I can see the Eagles moving the ball up and down the field on us all night. The question is, can we somehow keep them out of the end zone often enough to stay out of the game. Their WR's are going to eat our corners alive, unless our pass rush is formidable. Then, add Barkley's speed running .. ouch. To win this we need luck, penalties, and a couple turnovers. Thank you all. Both of these guys might emerge. Sometimes it takes a year or two (or more!). We are so deep (when healthy) at WR and OLB/DL that Whittington and Jackson have a steep climb to play. Your point is very well taken!! ...Snead has been a master at accumulating talent in non-prime time draft rounds! He has whiffed on some FA's and some draft picks, but all GM's have lots of whiffs. Talent evaluation in the NFL is an imperfect science. Snead has been a great GM for us. We had such a great draft last year. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on coaches views or the play of Brennan Jackson or Whittington lately? Is Whittington in the dog house, or is it just a numbers game? Ditto Jackson, I guess. So much depth up front now. The Ram's fearsome "fivesome" is ferocious, starting with the the pass rush, and even their run defense is getting better and better.... This bodes well for years to come. If we upgrade the rest of the defense a bit, the Ram's defensive unit could become on the league's best next year. By the way, Snead's overpayment for Fiske sure looks pretty good now. Quality players who have defense threatening speed and dynamic playmaking ability. That's not to say we don't have some effective skilled position players, but we don't create big plays or have real speed to threaten defenses. If Tua is not coming back this year, start as sellers by exploring Stafford to "fins trade for several high picks. The reality is: Rams are NOT a good team. Talent deficits abound at corner, and even one safety. And LB, as is well documented. The offense needs help also.
