First..McVay is an elite coach!! ... but... Second... Rams should have gone for it on .. what was it? Fourth and 14 or so mid-field with 4 minutes (appx) to go. Here's why... 1. The one outcome that ends the game in Detroits favor is for Detroit to get the ball and get a first down. Game over. 2. What a great season, especially the second half. There were some tough no calls yesterday also, and the red zone woes continue.....but...a loss is a loss. McVay sure loved having his first mobile QB since he's been coaching the Rams. He must have died and thought he'd gone to heaven with Wentz being able to run the damn ball. McVay called what....16 QB runs!! Even in this crap game, it was nice to have a mobile QB -- the kind that typically makes life miserable for Ram fans. I was VERY happy with Wentz. You may (probably) disagree... but hear me out.... .. does anyone agree? Consider the following: Kupp is slowing (other posters have pointed this out, and I agree). Kupp is never going to be vintage Kupp again. Maybe, he's a solid 2/3 maybe going forward. Tutu is a role player. Robinson is a FA (I think) so we may lose him. He's a good 3/4 WR. I sadly agree with you KW13. Your point is not insignificant. And this is the way Snead will see it. Kupp can still play and even start if need be, but time/injuries etc invariably have taken their toll on Kupp, who is at about 90% "vintage Kupp" and that percentage will drop further next year. Does the game impact our playoff chances? Quick opinion -- On today's game. The Rams aren't as good as they have looked in the past 5-6 weeks. Today was a regression to the mean of sorts, and the Giants played smart defense with their complex blitz packages. Good point. They are a very effective team when it comes to team building. I think Snead makes all the calls on draft day, and McVay is smart enough to let it happen without contention. On some of the videos from the Ram's draft room last year, you could see where McVay urged Snead to take Snead's guy Kobie Turner (higher than most projected) in the third round. Keep Gay and I'm fine getting rid or trading the others..... We are better off without Floyd--missing in action too often. Ramsey was so inconsistent and had turned into a head case. If I had to guess, you make a good point and I agree with you. Brian Burns is a plausible target, since they tried to trade for him a few times (from all reports) and have always coveted him. He will be very expensive so we'll see how high in dollars Snead will go to get him.
