I agree Ridgewood! Our talent at a given time (injuries included) is just a fact, a constant: McVay's play calling is a key variable that can lift or diminish the level of play. Mostly this year, it's been lousy. Yesterday was ridiculous. What the heck is he thinking? Agree with all the good comments from Ridgewood (no two TE run game!!??) etc. McVay is a great coach WHEN conditions areby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Ram43. You are correct!! And not that it would have mattered, but where the heck is Blake Corum? Is he in a witness protection program! He's not good enough to see the field in this anemic offense?by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Ram43. You are correct!! What a poorly played and coached game. Geez. And not that it would have mattered, but where the heck is Blake Corum? Is he in a witness protection program! He's not good enough to see the field in this anemic offense?by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
What happened with two tight end offense as we saw in big win over SF? Come on Sean. And with 90 yards to go and a punt essentially loses the game as we will never get the ball back, McVay calls two runs and a crap pass. Come on Sean. We got beat by an inferior team today and that is saying something given our lousy DB's and patchwork offense.by nantucketramfan - Game Time Forum
Fantastic content from Sanchez. Stafford = stud. Thanks for posting this.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree! Let's call him the most unlikely = Tutu He's been completely forgotten until SF game.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
He's a great coach. Full top. But he is great in part because his philosophy and ideas work. But at times, he gets overly anchored in them, I think. The great Keynes (ecoomist) once said "It's easy to get new ideas, but terribly hard to drop old ones". Today, McVay had to drop some old ideas. No Puka. No Kupp. A shaky defense. A busted up OL still being cobbled together. The result:by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Given the injuries, the horrible play this year and the total lack of momentum going into today, this team reached deep, gutted it out, never quit, had some terrific coaching to win. This season may be a disaster when all is said and done but this game was a win for pride, gut check win. The Rams played their tails off. I thought they had no chance in hell today (even with a few 49'er injuries) Pby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
If he could stay healthy, he'd be the perfect guy to distribute the ball to their weapons and run their offense. And their coach knows him well. I suspect Tua will retire. Tough break for the kid.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks for the article! Being a Boston College alum and huge Ram fan, seeing JJ3 giving back to others and help lift them up is no surprise!! It's part of the fabric of BC and expected. Thrilled to see JJ back on the Rams with a big interception. He's not a great safety, but he's rock solid, a leader, smart, and keeps making big plays for the Rams.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
ESPN reports that Rams strongly considered hiring Bill Belichick last year as their new defensive coordinator.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I hope our starting LB is not on the team right now. I suspect Snead & company are hunting....by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
This isn't intended to be piling on but from the Ram's perspective, I hope to heck they realize that the reality is, Bennett stinks. He shouldn't make the team, or practice squad. He will never be an NFL QB; backup or otherwise. Move on from him... let go of this idea, please Les, even if you rated Bennett highly coming out of Georgia.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you for your post. Very interesting. Good for Bruss for sure. I have heard he's lost all his confidence last year. This performance should help. Step by step. If you or anyone can post PFF grades post games, that would be fantastic. I guess I should subscribe on PFF though to get the data myself.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree! .. Snead is killing it. How about DT Tyler as another terrific late round pick who looks like a potential stud....!?!? Sure there are some misses, but in the last few years we've been loading up on "SNEAD STEALS!!" (hey, I like that phrase... Snead Steals!)by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Hunter Long is going to be a big surprise on the upside. He was an outstanding college TE at BC in the ACC and has never found his footing yet, and had some nagging injuries. He's also very intelligent. Stay tuned.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Happy Fourth from windswept Nantucket Island.... Great move by Snead. JJ is a good safety who does lots of things well on the field with the Rams before and after his time in Cleveland. A high character, solid citizen and great guy as well. Given one current safety spot appears wide open with question-marks Yeast and Kinchens, Johnson provides inexpensive, yet experienced, solid play justby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with your four-- Jack Youngblood, David "Deacon" Jones, Warner, and Aaron Donald -- for Mt. Rushmore. It is hard, though, to keep tackle Orlando Pace off the list. DOMINANT player. I think he made 7 or 8 straight all pro teams. He'd be my fifth best Ram, and he may have had a better career than Jack Youngblood or Warner. Warner's Ram career was fairly short. But no Warneby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Elmendorf was great. Didn't Elmendorf start a few years at safety with Nolan Cromwell at the other safety? Cromwell was a great player. And Jim Youngblood was on that team I believe--superior OLB?by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Just my view.... 1. The defensive backfield as a unit goes horrible play to "average" play (middle of the pack statistically) in the NFL. This means the signings (two) at CB work out and CC works out at safety, and maybe KK (third round pick) plays well (or they sign a safety). My broader point; last year our DB's were a sieve. Terrible statistically! If Rams can just become NFL &quoby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Nothing against Allen, but don't sleep on Hunter Long. He was a stud at BC in ACC play. Snead and Ram's coaches like him. He was getting playing time last year before he got hurt.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Great question! How will we be different.... 1. Our defensive backfield may (hopefully!) go from worst (horrible) to average (middle of the NFL pack) and that's a big jump and great news! 2. We'll generate more pressure from the front four, and get more total sacks. In part because of the influx of new talent, current players ascending further, and a new defensive coach. (all despite losinby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
The Rams have a pretty high opinion about Josh Wallace. I think he got good money to sign. He may make the team in my opinion. Better than DK.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, they do. Your small post is important and is a big bet for the Rams! I wish I was as confident. Kupp's age and re-ocuring leg injuries don't give me lots of confidence he'll make it through a long season and playoffs. I wish the Rams had a really good plan B.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
During the draft this year, some other announcer on TV set with Kiper on national TV said Mel Kiper should be in the Hall of Fame. Kiper was sitting there, and was sort of surprised. but everyone on the set realized "yes, he is right, Kiper should be!!". I never thought of it before, but KIPER SHOULD BE IN THE HALL OF FAME! He may have been in the right place at the right time iby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Characteristics of players chosen: Toughness. Intensity. Physicality. Leadership. Maturity. Strength. Love the picks.... will push many existing players to pick up their game or bye bye. Completes the retooling of the defense and addresses other needs. (e.g. a second good RB, safety, kicker).by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Check this out... emotional! Apologies if it is already posted. https://www.therams.com/video/braden-fiske-draft-call-jared-verse-les-snead-sean-mcvay-2024]Tough dudes cry too--Ram draft room videoby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
In "The Beast", Brugler's bible, Verse quote "He's the only player I've met who matches my intensity" I've read where they are good friends and work out warriors at FSU. The front seven of our defense in two days just got a whole lot more violent, more athletic, more intense....by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams NEED a DE/EDGE. This guy is ferocious and adds a dimension not on the roster. Note; Can rush the passer AND is great against the run.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
