As you all know I'm not one. Used to be... but that was long ago. Now I know this will come of as 'board egotistical' but IMHO not only do 'our' guys do well, (as many have said recently), but from my standpoint they are every bit as good as the famous pundits. I didn't do any truly thorough research about this next... but I DID do a little comparing... and far as I can tell our top guysby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
for the life of me I can't shake the notion that this guy has what it takes. I read the criticism's of him... and admittedly some make sense to me, but I still can't shake this notion that there's something there, a bit hidden but often times glaringly apparent. I mention Cooper because he's a good example of what I 'feel'... 'sense'... 'intuit'... 'believe'... about several of the playerby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I've been married a long time... I can block things out with ease and seldom need a mute button. Seems to come naturally to me. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
but I admit that I'll be in total shock if McVay doesn't 'improve' things. And I don't even know much about McVay. Only what I've read on this board... and I read that with half my mind on the topic and the other half considering what I wanted for dinner. Here's what I think I think: I expect GREAT improvement in the passing game, and running game, BUT... still not good enough due to theby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
well on my way but not there yet. :spintounge Nah, I get it. It pumps up kids, young adults, some middle aged adults... and I'm sure some ancient types like me.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
How did you come by that info? Yeah, I'd like to see what he can do. I still don't think he ever starts for the Rams but I do think he starts somewhere, someday. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I've seen a few. MY how 'fancy' they are these days. Couldn't help but comparing them to my 'golden athletic days' at Tranquillity High School. First, we weren't separate from the peons.... ooops, sorry, I mean the NON-Football players. All together.... one big room. We didn't all have tall lockers either... weren't enough. Concrete floors, with cracks. No wall emblems, nor inspirationby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
But that video with Kupp was GREAT IMHO. His background, his attitude... what I'm saying here is that had the Rams NOT drafted he'd be in this category for me as well... I'd be pulling for him.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
that's a tough one for me.. perhaps easier for RFIP and others, admittedly. Anticipating, IMHO, brings into play the caliber of WR's a QB is working with... to a VERY large extent that is. And not just 'caliber' of WR talent... but experience with them as well. I don't know how they compare in the latter regard.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
yeah, I was not comparing his running to Wentz. Only his setup, his feet, his athleticism in delivering the ball. It's different, somewhat... but he shows that same nearly religious consistency... I'd BET he spends a lot of time on his game, his mechanics, OFF the field... far more than the average college QB. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff appeared far more 'lost' to me in the Pro's, (that should be obvious to anyone).. and BECAUSE of that he's playing with almost no self assurance, (again, should be obvious to anyone)... AND he isn't setting up, delivering, with anywhere near the conviction he displayed in college. (perhaps not as obvious). Hope it's not necessary but I'm NOT saying Goff has 'lost it' and can't become quiby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I know this will frustrate many of you BUT.... I like the College game being different than the Pro game. At this time I actually PREFER the excitement of the college game and the way it's played over the Pros'... while, perhaps hypocritically, still liking the Pro game more. Even MORE controversial.... at this time I think I'd prefer the Pro's emulating College than vice versa. It DOby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff in the Pro's is very, and I mean VERY, different than Goff in college... and I'm not just talking about the system. Everything about him looks radically different to me today than how he appeared in College. I think 'coaching' a major factor there... but perhaps also some 'mental' shortcomings. So not that you AREN'T taking that into account but only to clarify my observation - I'm coby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
To put it succinctly... he impressed me most of all. And I'm only half way through the video. He looks to me more in the "Wentz" vein than Goff or Darnold. Solid, quick with his feet but sure footed... sets well before delivering. Looks to me like when having to move, OR scrambling... he remains more 'aware' of the defense and how his receivers are reacting, (who is getting open),by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
Those are my favorite B&Y's. And just to note: I don't think the B&W's are a LOT better than those B&Y's... it's a close call, but enough apart that I can make the B&W call. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
RFIP won't like this... s'ok. :spintounge I watched Darnold's hi light video... got curious so I called up Goff's college hi light video. I've got a big computer monitor so I placed them side by side and watched them both several times. My conclusion: There isn't a gnat's ass difference between them. I'm talking about what they got 'done'... they are obviously different. But not in 'rby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
The video really hi lights his throws into tight coverage... that makes me a bit nervous. He pulls it off, off course, it's a hi light film. Still... those passes were spectacular. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
and I don't know if the joke is on you or me. :laughing Unintended consequences.... "Captain Obvious".. never occurred to me. I had no rational whatsoever behind my post.... but then, I have found, that's when I'm at my best. :laughingby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I've been very fortunate in my life. Can't recall EVER having a flight I was on cancelled. Rarely delayed. SF is currently down to one runway for landings due to construction. Our departure from Denver was supposed to be at 11:30, MDT... and if you want me to prove this next part I can send you the alerts I got from Tripit, and Orbitz, while in Denver. Soon as we landed they announcedby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
Also Atlanta. I can't really judge many other BIG airports because I haven't been to them in a very long time. LAX was just filthy, last time I was there. Also, back in... ummmm, 2009 or so I went to Japan to visit my son. We left Japan, Tokyo, one the cleanest airports in the world I suspect... AND, the most courteous people working there you can imagine... flew to LAX with a LOT of noby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub

Funny thing... I had heard, (can't remember where or how), that the new airport in Denver was GLORIOUS. Ehhh. To my surprise San Francisco, today, and IMHO... is excellent, other than the prices of course, which is true in all airports. My least favorite airport is LAX... which IMHO should be burned to the ground, then fumigated, then rebuilt... but only after the EPA makes sure the toby JamesJM - Bucky's Pub
can you even imagine a new HC using a 'tanking' strategy? No doubt the Ram's want to open the new stadium with a contender... and unfortunately, (also IMHO), they've procrastinated, (liberal use of the word procrastinate), as long as they can. They've got to catch fire starting NOW to reach that home opener goal in the stadium. - JamesJMby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
and you're right, of course, I didn't consider it. But this is "Waterfield"... still beating that dead horse about Pat Haden making a comeback. So he's going to want a hell of a lot longer than 3 years.by JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm long past the days when I followed every team in the NFL with avid enthusiasm. I follow the Rams... and in the off season I only really follow them because I miss football. So this is based on the RAMS.... but with a 'modicum' of knowledge of the other teams. "Tavon on a one year prove it contract".... probably true, but these days isn't that true for nearly every HC in the Nby JamesJM - RamsFootballFans.com
