Rams defensive line has minimized Jenkins loss so far. They put so much pressure on the QB, it makes it a lot easier and the Dbacks don't have to be concerned about double moves as much because the QB will be on his butt.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Have you ever seen a team so slow at developing high offensive draft picks expected to turn your offense around? 3 players that were so slow out of the box and just dreadful as rookies. Hence the following: 1) 2014 - 28th in offense 2) 2015 - 32nd in offense 3) 2016 - 32nd in offense I will give them credit on Gurley, but he was a splashed in those first 4 games as no other I haveby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
6 guys cannot block 9 guys. This offensive is predictable and Gurley has the battered runningback syndrome. Of course, he has no vision, because he is seeing double vision of many defenders closing in on him at the hike. I have never seen a misuse of talent as the Rams are misusing Gurley. It has been bad coaching period.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Very funny. He could team up with that runningback running wild in parts unknown. But, there are stories of players turning it around Cris Carter was lost at one point doing lots of wrong things. but it is a long shot.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
I said nothing about Robinson until Max posted he would prefer Robinson even though Watkins is a 1000 yard WR, something we have never had and is a true #1 receiver and Robinson leads the NFL in penalties year after year.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Tight End in the seam with vacated linebackers. That play has 20+ yards written all over it, but never gets executed. It really is unbelievable that Fans that have never played football can see this obvious opportunity and the Rams offensive staff ignores a gift.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
2 seasons and Robinson is about up for his 2nd contract. In those 2 seasons the Rams were 28 and 32 on offense and 32 on offense this season. Let somebody else be the minor leagues and get the below average play, and than we can be the major leagues and get their above average play in the 2nd contract. Robinson has consistently led the league in penalties and been ranked near the bottom ofby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
1) If Rams can hang in there and play the punting game and allow Donald and Quinn to force some fumbles, I think it goes down to the end with a major Rams upset, by playing the punting and field goal game. 16-14 Rams win. 2) If the Rams trail and Cardinals get rolling and Rams have to try to generate offense and can't just kick 10-15. Cardinals win in a romp - 27-3by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Seriously, do the Rams really run anything that resembles an offensive system. 1) Gurley Off Tackle 2) Tight End drift out to side 3) Austin Reverse 4) Austin quick pass in flat 5) Britt go out 10 yards and turn around 6) Throw it deep up for grabs on play actionby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams only run 6 plays. How hard could it be?by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Having Martz is always key. :) but I just rethought this. With Fisher as a coach, I don't know if Jerry Rice could be productive so maybe it would be a waste to draft a 1000 yard WR.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
1) Yet - the context that a player plays better when healthy and can play 16 games 2) that players do get injured one year and sometimes the next year are healthy that was the context but please give me those 1000 yard seasons at 75%. I would take that in a minute. Hopefully, he can come back next year at 100 percent and we can finally put this thing to bed forever.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Bruce had Martz That alone means you are going to be much better but the comparison I was making was in the context of injury. Sometimes people do get healthy again. Bruce had a couple of down years in 1997 and 1998 before Martz returned and he got healthy. Compare Watkins injury years to Bruce's injury years. 1997 - 815 yards 1998 - 457 yards 2014 - 982 yards 2015 - 1047 yardby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Dead last Dead last #28 To act like this was a speed bump is hard to understand when we have 48 games of history to go by.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
To me, that is shocking that somebody would take Greg Robinson over Sammy Watkins even with the injuries. One has played very well and the other has played poorly. You have a guy that if he played the full season and prorated the stats, he could be a 1500 yard type of receiver. He has been very successful and even with missing time and dealing with injuries has been a true #1 type of reby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
How many WRs in the NFL have averaged 1000 yards in the first 2 years of their career? Tell me how many over the last 30 or 40 years. He came in with a good class that much is for sure and I wouldn't mind having the Giants WR for sure, but that doesn't change that the Rams are dead last in offense this year, dead last in 2015, and 28th in 2014 without Watkins. The path chosen instead oby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Watkins instead of Robinsons means playoffs last year. For that reason, alone. One playoff appearance in 10 years, throw out that he may never play again. I would take Watkins. Regardless, on an offensive team that is historical bad, having a 1000 yard WR on a team that was on the border on making the playoffs, would definitely make a significant difference. And to boot, there wouldby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Watkins when he plays a full season, will be even better. But even with missing lots of games each year, he puts up more production than any Rams WR has done in a decade and he has done it on a bad team, bad weather, and an unknown QB.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
even with that he is a 1000 yard receiver under the most adverse circumstances. Bad offensive team Bad weather Injured Bad QB He is averaging 1000 yards a seasons in his first 2 seasons in the NFL.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
For averaging 1000 yards for his first 2 seasons in the NFL. Something that no Ram has done in a decade? I wish we had a Sammy Watkins that could play half of the season and deliver twice the results in half the time.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
will make a ton of difference this week and should get Gurley a little more space.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
That's it, it's the criteria I use, if you don't like it I will assume that's your prerogative, but, my criteria ain't changing...mostly because it just makes sense. cool smiley You can keep splitting hairs if you want but my criteria ain't changing. :) You are taking your ball and going home. I am saying that it is unfair on how you evaluate backup QBs and who are the best ones. Basically, you are saying the best backups can't be considered because they really should be starters. That is the point. To have starter quality backups are the best backups. It has nothing to do with what you were referring to? If Keenum turned into the next Kurt Warner, Trent Green, or even Bulgby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
Big plays. Donald and Quinn force fumbles and Austin makes a big play on a punt return and our punter dominates the field position and puts the Cardinals inside the 20 all day.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
So with that criteria, if Keenum develops and actually improves his game, he no longer qualifies that he was ever a backup. That basically rigs the evaluation. If you end up being good, you can't be considered a backup. I don't think that will happen with Keenum with this particular offensive coaching staff, but he could improve and than by this criteria, he wouldn't qualify as judging baby Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
and was 18-4 in his first 22 games.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
With proper coaching Gurley is a 6.0 YPC runningback. Gurley should be 2000 yards 6.0 YPC. If the offense starts opening up the field, it will come. If the coaches remain stubborn and allow 9 in the box. 6 guys can't block 9. Those 2 40 yard plays last week will help in the future.by Rams_81 - RamsFootballFans.com
