He's got a mix of enthusiastic and professorial going on. He works for the Rams, but he hands out good, balanced information.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Sounds kind of insulting. The article mentioned his 114 acre property before I did. Did you think it was ridiculous then, too? In past articles about him, I've seen Vermeil's property referred to as a farm, or a horse ranch. Is it ok if we refer to it that way then, or should we check with you first? As to your triple "?" So cute. The point of mentioning it is about where heby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
even though it's not too funny. I can remember being assured by some fans that Jason Smith was NOT another Alex Barron. And then just in the last year or 2 being assured once again that no way was Greg Robinson another Jason Smith. Yes, I get that their problems are all somewhat different. But the Rams sure have had difficulty with LOT since Pace.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

That's comprehensive, and sounds right to me. I certainly don't agree about everyone on the list. Obviously, a player chosen in the 1st round or even high in the 1st round has to achieve at a VERY high level in order to be a "steal" at that point. Donald would qualify, but I'm not sure if any others would, except maybe Quinn. My responses. Keenum - No Gurley - No, not consideby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

I was raised to respect my elders. But I'm so old now that I that I think I can say this. I'm practically older than myself. Could this simply be an incipient case of grumpyoldmanism? It could happen to anyone.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Some guys are going to be true believers every year, no matter what happened in the past. Nothing wrong with that. It's a style, and an approach to fanship. Some fans are going to need more convincing after years of bad or mediocre results. Now for one fan, 3-1 might be good enough to convince them that something has changed. For another fan it might be 4-1. Or winning a particular tyby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Vermeil is nearly 80 and is watching this stuff from his farm in Pennsylvania. From the strong tone of some of his comments, it sounds like he's fully returned to his Eagle roots and hasn't got much good to say about today's Rams. Yes, he's forgotten more about football than you or I ever knew, but having respect for his past doesn't make him an expert on what's going on inside the Rams nowby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

But I'm sure that if they don't pan out that way, Mike Sielski will go back and ask Dick to explain why he was so wrong. NOT!by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
If a toe down inbounds first is good enough when the toe subsequently goes out of bounds, then why can't a toe down first before the heel comes down out of bounds also be good enough. Seems consistent, doesn't it? The former official went in to all this stuff about a "natural step". How is that defined? Why make it complicated?by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
The fans are a mixed bag. They're pretty bitter right now that the season hasn't gone as expected.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
listening to them when the Cardinals went ahead 13-10. Up to that point, they sounded worried. But suddenly they started talking about the Cards going to 2-2, and preparing for the Thur game against the 9ers' It was like they just didn't think the Rams were going to be able to score again. Like a 3 point lead was a safe lead with a quarter to go. Then came the TA punt return. Oops, theby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I listened yesterday to the Cardinals' radio broadcast of the game. Dave Pasch and Ron Wolfley do a great job. They've been working together for a while, and are smooth. Of course it's a homer broadcast, but more than most I think they do a good job of crediting the other team when credit is due. Wolfley is tuned in with the Cardinals and their coaching staff. He played for the Cardinals.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
But it controls points allowed, delivers punishment to QB's and receivers, and never lets the other team get comfortable. Right now the 0-28 game is heavily influencing all the statistical averages. If that game is not really who the Rams are, then all those metrics will gradually improve. But we'll see.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I imagine that in each of those challenges, the receiver KNEW darn well that he didn't catch that ball. As a coach, I would instruct my players - "try to fool the officials if you want, but if I'm about to throw a challenge, you better tell me whether you really caught it or not."by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
That one play he made was the kind that gets the juices flowing. Just took the OLineman and shoved him back 4 yards into the handoff, then grabbed the back and threw him down. Caveman stuff. So much talent accumulated on this dline.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

...the more critical I am of a Ram - Quick, Keenum, etc, the better they start to play. I think I need to make this a tactic. People can PM me about which players need the most scorching. I'll gladly be the board fool, in order to keep the Rams winning.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Brown is a physical guy. Let him deal out some punishment. It would also be informational. If he can get yards where Gurley can't, that would be revealing. If he can't, that's something to know, too.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
But we can't fix this guy's problem on our message board, right? As you very well know, there's only one person than can fix his problem. And that's him. In the meantime, go Rams!by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
The obvious positive is - the Rams are winning! And Case is doing enough to help make that happen. So we should be happy with that. And I am. Sort of. However...I still believe, and I think most of you do, that an acclimated Goff is going to be the better QB, and give us a better chance of winning games. Not those two big penalties. That's already been discussed, and really wasn't egregious on GR's part. BUT, I thought the problem for him coming out of college was learning to pass block, but that he was this awesome terror of a run blocker. How come on 3rd and short, the Rams can't run behind Robinson and get the 1st? Why isn't running left behind Robinson a reliable way to get good rushiby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
