Is that a play design, or did somebody not do what they're supposed to do?by Saguaro - Game Time Forum
You don't use it on a UDFA rookie who hasn't done anything yet. You use it for a star who gets some injury but might be able to help you late in the season. So they probably saved it in case they had a situation like that.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
NO WAY does Gurley finally break a few runs and get it going. NO WAY!by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Would you rather - Start Keenum and have 10 million dollars or Start Goff and contract an incurable skin disease Start Keenum and have world peace or Start Goff and cause WWIII I'm sure some of you other posters can think of ways to help people make the right choice.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
The hard data that we have is that our offense doesn't measure very well against other NFL offenses. Is it lack of talent? Is it poor scheme? Is it a complicated, but good scheme, that will yield good results when the team finally gets it? Is it a poor fit between talent and scheme? Is it poor teaching? Some combination of some or all of those things? Does any of that have anything tby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Who is arguing that the old offense was better and we shouldn't change it? The impression I got was that it was the attempt to "blend" the old with the new from Groh, that was adding some layers of complication, and I asked "why blend? our old wasn't worth keeping." I don't see how you interpret that as a plea to keep the old. You keep jumping around here. First it wby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
It's entirely possible that Johnson would be struggling with the Rams and Gurley killing it in Arizona.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
So to me, that negates the idea that he's just making stuff up and speculating. This is precisely the opposite of a thread yesterday where I questioned how much Coach Vermiel could really know about what's happening with the Rams from where he is. But Case Keenum is right there. I mean RIGHT there. If he says there's been a "lot of change and it's a lot to process", I think I haveby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm going to try putting it a different way to see if I can communicate better. We're winning games now with just enough offense and some terrific defense. I believe that Goff could do as well or better than Keenum right now, if he is indeed ready. And he has a much higher ceiling. I believe that once Goff is in the lineup, the offense will keep getting better as he becomes more experiencby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com

if I thought Keenum was playing at an NFL starter level. Or if I thought that Fisher would have a pretty quick hook and replace him at the first sign of trouble. But I don't. JMO.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
When it became apparent that Goff wasn't ready to start game 1, you could see this coming a mile away. Either the team would be bad, in which case it wouldn't really matter when Goff replaced Case. Or the the team would be good, and that would become an incentive to settle for Case Keenum far longer than they should. I get it. Team chemistry. Don't fix what's not broken. All of that.by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote: "This offseason, the Rams hired Mike Groh and gave him the title of passing game coordinator. They retained their offensive coordinator, Rob Boras. They also hired Chris Weinke as their new quarterbacks coach. The result of that coaching cocktail is not only a lot of voices in the room and in Goff's head but also a complicated mixture of an offense that's trying to blend what the Ramsby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
As for good, old coach Vermeil, we could talk about it till the cows come home, and still be plowing the same ground. He's been out of the coaching field for a long time, but maybe he can still glean something chewing the cud with old his football buddies. Maybe he heard it through the grapevine. But I still say he's no spring chicken anymore. If he turns out to be right, he'll probablyby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm sure he has a lot of NFL, and college friends, and talks to them. I'm sure they all have opinions. But here's an extreme example to show what I mean. Coach Vermiel is right there in the Eagles backyard. Instead of paying a whole bunch of scouts, and a player personnel director, and a GM, why didn't they just ask Dick to drop by for a couple of days and run their whole draft for them?by Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
...it just hasn't been demonstrated to be UNIQUELY QUALIFIED. That was the way the original post was being treated - DV made some statements in an article and we have to take them seriously because it's DV. I've never been a guy that just takes things on authority. Just not the way I am. I'm sure that during his career, DV knew a lot about coaching and developing QB's. Or is it a 114 acre "ranch"? Actually a small part of the former King Ranch. You learn something every day if you bother to educate yourself. From this article - Good Friends, Good Times, Good Wine "Vermeil, who lives on a 114-acre farm in East Fallowfield, Chester County, PA, and does lots of charity work in the Philadelphia area, said it “wasn’t my idea to turn it intby Saguaro - RamsFootballFans.com
