"What does that have to do with anything ?" Your post addressed the lack of running and I offfered the run defense of Detroit as a likely explanation. I think that's "something"by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah-I got a thing for strong, independent women-that have smarts. When the Rams won the SB and did the parade thing it was Kelly who pushed an obvious drunk Stafford out of the way to get down and help the person who had fallen off the stage.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Butkus had many comments similar if not identical to what you wrote. So did Singletary. And Sprinkle of the Bears. And of course Nitschke along with our hero Deacon. Take these type of players out of the NFL and you don't have an NFL. It's no longer a game that people 50 and plus enjoy-its a game for younger people who enjoy the violence and harm. Just look at how popular MMA is -which is nothby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Of course its "dirty" play ! But that's football. It's always been that way but today the players are bigger, faster, and more likely than ever to cause permanent injury to others, if not themselves. Face it every NFL team has its share of "dirty" players including the Rams. And some make a ton of money from it. And they do it because its the ONLY way they CAN make a lot of moby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
The problem with Bridge is that there is so much to learn. My wife is now in a bridge club where these people-all in their 80s- have been playing since they in college. And they all take it VERY serious. I don't dare go with Barb-could not handle some old lady throwing something at me. Last Saturday my wife too me to a couples house to "play a hand". They were good mid-western peopleby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

"One" player? Who was the "One" player responsible for the Rams overachieving what all the experts thought would be a 3 win season? Win or lose as a team. Once you start to find the "one" you begin to lose the "team".by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
You know James. In "Bridge" there is the word "pre-empt" when it comes to bidding a hand. In your initial paragraph I thought I had the perfect AI response: "that wasn't Stafford who came out of the tent". Then of course you ruined it with a perfect pre-empt bid.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Football is not just a physical game but it is a violent one. My coaches said to tackle hard and violent. You want the other player to feel the pain. But I believe the players when they say they never intend to cause permanent physical injuries to another player. That is more likely what the Lions player meant. That makes sense too.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Precisely because it IS the playoffs I would think you would make sure to make the "wisest" decision. I'm not sure he would have gone for the FG with Greg the Leg either. If he makes it your up by two and now the Lions have the ball and time to get into position for a FG themselves with a respected kicker. I dunno-the more I look at this the more I think that when its all said anby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
That's how I see it as well. There was no clear, bright line, to make the decision.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
I didn't see that either and I thought I saw Goff looking around for Sean. If that is true it all sounds like how Goff's departure was handled by McVay. Not a good look.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
You do recall both he and Waterfield shared QB duties during games. On half it was Waterfield and the next half the Dutchman.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
I think a decision to go for it is not an "easy" one to make. Your near mid field and you need 14 yds for a first. You don't want to risk a missed FG from that distance thus handing the ball over to Goff near the 50yd line. 14 yds on the most important play of the game is not something I relish especially when your most reliable receiver Puka just got blasted on the prior play. I'm surby waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
I think the 4th down call was on the Rams side of the 50. If you don't make it the game is over. Goff can run out the clock on your own side of the 50. Worst case is they kick a FG and the Rams are then forced to score a TD. But it was a close call and of course subject to internet criticism.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
If I'm not mistaken the Lions have the best or one of the best run defenses in the league.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

I suspect most qbs would have a ;much smaller rating passing in the RZ. The area is limited and things you can do in an open field don't exist.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

I don't know if refs are intentionally calling it (Stafford hit) on some but not other qbs. Not saying that was your point. Your right when it comes to risk of permanent injury. That's why its hard to believe refs would not call it. Maybe its as simple as not paying the right amount of attention to the play, or distraction, or a million othert things.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com

I might consider Waterfield, VanBrocklin in their time. Then Warner was special when he wasn't hurt. But Stafford is a warrier.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Did anyone see McVay congratulate Goff ? I waited to watch and I saw Jared walking around as if to look for Sean. If McVay didn't that says a lot. If he did, I didn't see it and sorry for the inference.by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
Of course I was hoping the Rams would win. They didn't. I was also hopeful Goff would do well. He did. Huge loss. But not as painful as so many in the past .by waterfield - RamsFootballFans.com
