The problem with Bridge is that there is so much to learn. My wife is now in a bridge club where these people-all in their 80s- have been playing since they in college. And they all take it VERY serious. I don't dare go with Barb-could not handle some old lady throwing something at me. Last Saturday my wife too me to a couples house to "play a hand". They were good mid-western people from Michigan who had lived here for a year. They were also terrific football fans : "Go Blue". Barb said I did pretty well for not playing in 40 yrs but I suspect they were being nice.
I know how to play the hand to take the correct amount of tricks but the bidding and all the conventions that suppsedly communicate your hand to your partner-that's a whole different world.
But it is a great game-one in which my grandson wants to learn.
