I tend to agree overall and can see it happening any of those 3 ways. Colin Cowherd is likely to call this his "Like it I love it" Upset of the week and the big reason for that is that he feels like the Packers fold against physical teams like the Rams.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Often the team with rest is favored after a bye. GB will be fresh while LA is nursing injuries from a hard fought match with SEA. Sometimes you will see a team come out of a bye rusty and sloppy. The ready team mounts an early attack against an unprepared team and holds on for dear life as they poop out in the 4th quarter. So what about the Rams and GB? We have not only the best, butby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
6 for 6! Who you got next week?by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff looked like he got something off his shoulders/mind yesterday. Maybe not having the weight of starting? Maybe the thumb let him focus on that instead of every nuance McVay stuffs in? Maybe seeing Wolford have some success with his team? Maybe Whitworth gives him comfort/confidence? Goff has been worse since he went out. It seemed like Whitworth was calling out his confidence aby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
I saw the same. Some kind of muscle strain/tear. He can probably play through it next week but rest is best. The rams DL depth is insane. Rams can probably manage without him, but the offense will need to step up more.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDaJudge 3/6 with 29 yards passing in less than two complete drives and he softened them up??? Interesting take I guess. Akers is good no doubt. Running right up the gut on a top 5 rush defense in the NFL? Best MLB in Wagner. Oline that much better? Whitworth helps but these were runs up the middle. Seattle knew the run was coming. Especially when Goff came in. So why wereby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Kills back on again did Goff look much different than he did against Seattle 2 weeks ago? What about the Jets? I knew people were going to try and blame the thumb for his performance I'm just happy he didn't lose the game for them and made a couple of plays despite going 9 of 19 I hope Wolf can go next week... PERIOD because if its Goff it will take a miracle to win He lby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteferragamo79 Akers did that WOW what were the other big plays?????? 1. 3rd and 9 outlet pass to Akers after evading two tacklers (2:47 left in the 2nd quarter). Goff had not done anything to that point. That was a turning point for his game. Akers did most of the work YAC and got the touchdown with 2 more carries. But without the play that Goff makes there, we punt and Seattle coby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
He definitely softened up the Seahawks defense a bit. They were playing wider to contain him. He was getting yards and tiring them out early despite no points. I give a good piece of credit to him for Seattle struggling against the run. Helped the Oline. Helped Akers. Helped Brown. Helped Goff. Good stuff Wolford. Could see him playing next week depending on the situation with his andby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Disagree he looked shell shocked. He was maneuvering well and seeing things. Made a few huge plays including that dump to Akers that went for 40 yards. Defense and Akers definitely the stars. Goff was no slouch, though his thumb did appear to be bothering him and it looked super puffy on the sideline.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteMamaRAMa I made no judgement about Goff's intelligence. What I said was that I think he really didn't know where the sun rises and sets. It is possible for people to have a high IQ in certain things but not in ALL things. Agreed you didn't judge his intelligence. I agree that he didn't at that time know where the sun rises. I was more responding to the gist of this thread calling hiby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Unofficial McVay press link Not official link from rams yet so may stop working. If so, here is the official Rams channel: Official Rams Channel McVay is overall playing it close to the vest. Said Jared played a normal practice today. Did well and looked good. Needs to look at the tape to be sure. Wants to take it one day at a time. My read is that he wants to go with Wolfordby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Jared got a 36 on the wonderlic which is basically an IQ test. Very good score and well above average among QBs. His mom addressed it after the episode aired and said that Jared spends his free time looking at and watching only football (this was 19 year old version of him). She knows he smart may have not come across something like that. Ever play are you smarter than a 5th grader? Iby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteCoy Bacon If JW starts I'm thinking that Seattle will have a LB key in on him to prevent him from breaking lose and running. I agree that they're going to throw deep to Metcalf more. As good as Ramsey is... he doesn't seem like a huge threat to pick it off. From that perspective, why not throw up a few 50/50 deep balls where the worst case is a pick similar to a punt if it is already 3by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah I am expecting a trick play as well. That's one way to catch a good defense off-guard. Would not feel comfortable being up 6 points or less with 2 min left on the clock and the ball in Wilson's hands. He lives for that moment.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff before used to draw safeties away with his eyes and used to be very good going through progressions. Since 2019 he seems to lock on more and seems slower to me at going through progressions. I see him over thinking or trying to make proof positive it's open or there are no ghost MLBs/SAFs lurking. My point was just that running is not really a thought until his throwing options are eby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteOhiorams And some guys get paid and their play and passion is gone. All young men realize their mortality at some point and become more careful in some fashion. Is that Goff's current issue? To Goff's credit he seemed very engaged on the sideline giving props to teammates and watching intently. Didn't look like someone who doesn't care. On one clip they showed him clapping emphaticby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRams43 Here’s Merlin... Some random thoughts for this offense IF Wolford goes vs Seattle: TEs better be prepared to catch the ball. Goff reads past guys like Everett and even Higs if there's a DB on them but Wolford will put the ball up to them. It's a basic aggression in play style. Everett got exposed pretty badly in that last game but going to say maybe his pride is hurt and he'll bby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Brees is another elite pocket passer as was Manning. Goff is not a statue like Brady/Brees. He is an OK scrambler when he decides to run. The problem is he wants to go through all 4 progressions before he will decide to run. Wilson is kind of like that as well and takes a ton of sacks for it.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotezn Since 2018 the Rams have had issues with certain fronts that attack the OL, limit outside zone, exploit weak links in the OL (in 2018 it was Sullivan and Blythe at guard), pressure the qb...among other things. Run game is part of this too. BOTH McVay and Goff (along with the OL) respond poorly against those defensive attacks and then what we're left with is fans putting it all entirely onby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteBumRap You ask questions I have tried to answer. It makes since that over coaching is hurting Goff and Goff is also making bad plays. He is not playing instinctivy and that is the problem. My son fears he is more of a pleaser trusting McVay and too focused on doing things his way but not ready to assert himself when the game is in progress. He robotically follows. Your point re Wolfby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Best was one of my favorites for sure but just after my time as a reporter. He went back to Cal for a bit as a grad assistant coach. Then he joined Trinidad on their olympic team as a sprinter because his dad had citizenship. He ran again Usain Bolt at the Olympics but obviously didn't medal. So he's definitely been active since leaving the Lions! Haven't seen anything in the last fewby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree on getting a dedicated OC to manage. It will help McVay from burning out too soon as well.by BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
Background: Longtime Cal fan here with deep roots with the Rams from my Father and Grandfather. I've become a big fan watching almost every game since Goff was drafted. Note: I also follow all the Cal players into the pros like Goff and Rodgers. Did a stint as a sideline reporter at Cal during my time there when we were lucky enough to have Aaron Rodgers and Marshawn Lynch at the same timeby BearlyThere - RamsFootballFans.com
