What a kind person your grandson is. He also sounds like he’s an incredibly well rounded individual. One of my favourite things is when my daughter helps me out. I used to work in a rural area outside of our city. We don’t have much farmland in this part of the boreal forest but we do have some. If the wind picked up after a big accumulation the sections of highway that went through the open farmland would always disappear under a crust of snow. I could never do one just one day. I have neither the patience nor the spatial awareness. In fact were it not for my daughter I might have bailed on at least one of my first puzzles. I always start mine on Boxing Day with the goal of wrapping it up by New Years.by canadaram - Bucky's Pub

My mother-in-law started giving me a puzzle for Christmas around ten years ago. I don’t remember why it started, I don’t recall saying that I wanted to start doing puzzles, but she gave me one and she has done so every Christmas since. It’s not that I ever loved winter, but I always found a way to embrace it, you don’t have much of a choice up here. Now I’m just a miserable SOB when winter rolls around. I still have outdoor activities that I’ll do, but there’s a lot of wishful and wistful thinking about the better weather that comes with the summer and not a lot of living in the moment.by canadaram - Bucky's Pub

Iowa must get some pretty tough winters, so I’m guessing that you’re used to it. Doesn’t mean that you enjoy the winters or even find them tolerable. Myself, I find that the older I get the more I hate winter. Last year was probably the worst winter that I’ve ever experienced, we still had snow in some places around here in the middle of May. I can’t even get upset about this year’s injuries and the associated losing record. From 2007 to 2017 all I hoped for was a competitive team and maybe a shot at the playoffs when the last week of the regular season rolled around. Both Tremayne Anchrum and Alaric Jackson seem like possible future bookends at the tackle positions. Perhaps Anchrum is a better option inside, IDK. Allen worries me both from a performance and a durability perspective, so a center like Schmitz in the second round (I think he’s gone by the 3rd) would make me happy. Yeah, I just can’t get upset with any of coaches or front office staff on this one. Having said that, I still cringe when I think of Tutu over Humphrey. Not that Humphrey would save them this year. Also, playing on the Rams 2022 offensive line is akin to being a drummer for Spinal Tap, so Humphrey would probably be injured right now.
