Thanks for this write up. Sweat is someone I watched for awhile. Super big dude, but conditioning and motor is a concern for me. I don't think Rams will go in this direction, but for other teams, you are looking at run stopper that you may not have for goal line/4th down and 1 stances if he had a few snaps before. He gets pushed pretty badly on stretch plays as his strength mainly is projecby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
I will rephrase. Fans breaking down QB tapes is like negative 2x helpful Warner breaking down QB tapes is like 5x helpful Goff ADDING his thoughts on the play that Warner is breaking down is 10x helpful. Hope that is more clear. As a musician... if you get one sided feedback from a Master Guitarist without the Master hearing your side at all. Example, what your comfort zone is, howby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
First play that Warner illustrated.... it makes sense if the QB can diagnose the coverage at snap. Niners were giving a zone look even with the motion. The CB does run up to press, but Niners still have a tendency to run Zone. Maybe the quick feedback is that Goff should have checked the top side first. Just a quick glance.. vs keying in on the near side all the way through. Peace on that.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
I think some of it has to do with Baltimore's OC. Not really my kind of OC that I like. Felt like once he changes his play calling rhythm since KC was really stacking things, the play calling became very predictable and lacked setups to get the defense off balanced. Sort of the same when he was with the Bills and Niners.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Hindsight is 20/20. If Detroit converted and scored a TD... people will be saying that it was a great call. Talking about calls... what about kicking a FG at the 3 yards line to end the 1st half vs going for a TD? That to me set a tone for the Lions where it looked like they were passive in the 3rd quarter "protecting" a lead. If you are going to be aggressive, then stay aggressby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Yep... people set the bar so low this year and last year too high. First half of last season, the defense was good by league standards. But the bar was too high for some people. After Stafford went out and then Donald sat.. hard to judge the games after. At least this year, Rams had an offense to keep them in games. Whereas last year it was the defense that kept Rams in games.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Sadly, in today's world... you can't argue with data anymore. Some of us do want to learn and update our viewpoints. Thanks for pulling up these stats. Mostly matches what I thought was changing in the defense year over year. Explosive plays for 2021 surprised me a bit.. thought we were better. I think if there was a way to split up 2022 into first half of the season and then second halfby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Biggest problem when you look at the stats is the Blitz rate to Pressure rate ratio. Ideally you want the ratio to be low to equal. Example: Blitz 20% of the time, want the Pressure rate to be 20% or higher. Rams have this going the wrong way this year. Normal Blitz rate, low pressure rate. Teams with the worst defenses have the ratio flipped. Look at the top defensive.. they don't bby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
They call it the hawk roll. You remember Legion of Boom. They are far from that era. You can teach them all the technique you want, eventually it will come down to the player. Seahawks haven't been great in the "missed tackle" category. This year, they were the 3rd worst. They have been more consistently mid to bottom of the back in Missed Tackles.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams have generally been middle of the pack in the NFL in terms of Missed Tackle stats. Fans just over amplify things when they see a missed tackle. Sort of like blitz rate. Rams had one of the highest blitz rates in the NFL during their Super Bowl Run. Also last year as well. Rams are usually not below average in blitz rate under Morris. Biggest anomaly in the stats this year is the Aby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Flip it and say: I don't trust the offense to score a TD in the red zone???? Rams had chances to score and put pressure on Goff to come from behind. They didn't do that. Defense gave opportunities in the second half.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
For this game. Red Zone TD conversion was the #1 issue. Defense gave the ball over to the offense many times in the second half and only gave up 3 points. Offense was driving, couldn't convert. Need to put pressure on Goff. Rams score a TD on any of the Red Zone opportunities... forces Goff to play for a score on the final drive or even play from behind in the second half if rams scored muby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
If Tutu had rookie numbers like Tank Dell... people here would be lauding the Tutu pick. Heck if Tutu had Tank Dell's numbers this year, people would say he had a good season. Tank missed all of December with a broken leg so remember that when you look at his numbers. Not dismissing the fragility of these small guys though. Peace on that.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Something you don't game plan for. First few times, when Rams motioned out the RB... I was thinking... well there you go, tipping your hat to the niners that it's a pass. Then when it was instead a designed run and Wentz got 5 yards or so.. I smiled. I appreciate the work done by the coaching staff to install specific plays this week.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

I'm guessing it's because of the way Kyren runs. Bless his heart, I love how aggressive he is. Would love to see him have a long NFL career.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com

Unless you are playing in the AFC North, holding teams under 20 pts in the NFL is good. Rams D did their job. Offense continues to be a different story. McVay has to realize that he needs to take the points with this offense. When he is behind 0-7, for some reason, he thinks he needs to quickly even the score. When taking the points and being behind 3-7 is still okay, especially in thby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
I like Fuaga. Toss up between Alt and Fuaga. Fuaga is a better run blocker. Alt is a better pass blocker. Fuaga is nasty. Have a bunch of "nasty minded" folks up front and that would give a new identity to the offensive line.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Tutu is actually open on some of the deeper routes. On one play, Stafford was sliding left, away from Tutu's route, so he wouldn't have enough leverage to get the ball out there. Blame that on the OL for creating a thin pocket. Other plays, Stafford doesn't see him. Rather have that deep threat than Jefferson. Just need some deeper balls thrown to keep the defense honest.by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
The offense had trouble staying on the Field. Drive 1: 5 plays 25 yards Drive 2: 6 plays 42 yards Drive 3: 3 plays -2 yards Drive 4: 3 plays -10 yards Drive 5: 5 plays 58 yards Defense needs help from the offense as well. It's an offense friendly league, offense needs to score and extend drives as well. Neither of Rams' Offense nor Defense are good, but given how things played out,by h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, it's low value now... but his value was higher before. Question is.. why couldn't the front office see a tanking stock before hand and sold for higher? Vs waiting for like public financials to come out where now everyone can see it's a bad stock.. so he sells for low? I don't mind getting rid of low performing talent for a low price. I guess everyone whiffed on Ivan Pace Jr. Can make an argument for alot of players. There's more than just the combine though. It just happens to be the most publicly available scouting venue. Teams have invites, pro days etc.... so if a team is lazy enough to just focus on combine, then that's on them. But most teams don't. They have enough resources to check players out without needby h2omelonhead - RamsFootballFans.com
If anyone said that Rams were going to: Have 28 First Downs vs 21 for the Niners Run 78 plays vs 54 for the Niners Own TOP with 33 Minutes Go 7-14 on 3rd downs vs 2-9 for the Niners I'd be: sweet, I'll take that. TOs and big plays will throw those stats away.
