sorry if posted already... couldn't see it anywhere. Wade posted: Wade Philips Verified account @sonofbum Apr 6 You asked what’s Cookin’with the Rams-they say we are getting too many star players. So Suh us!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I always enjoy reading what front office people say about drafting and such. He certainly never acts scared so he's true to his mottoby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
My only letter was a good luck card for the up coming '85 season to John Robinson when I was 12 sent from the UK. I treasured my sign picture, although I've moved countries a few times in the last few years and havernt seen it for a awhile.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
OLB ILB OT G/C TE S NT I agree with your need spots. I feel that 3rd rounder will fall to the best value at possibly any one of the top 5 needs. While we are very thin at OLB/ILB if Crosby were to fall to the 3rd I'd hope we'd be all over him (I seriously doubt he makes it, seen mocks of him going late 1st!!). I love the OLB/rushers you've listed and would be happy with any of theseby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
so my guess is that they would love to still upgrade this position with a true impact player. Now having missed out in FA, spent money else where and less draft capital especially after Cooks trade, I can see them using a lower pick on a blocking type. But it wouldn't surprise me if one of the better WR like TE dropped they'd jump on them.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I remember watching him at Oregon st. and leading into that draft if we had a chance to get him if he somehow fell to the 2nd. No chance. A bit like Suh, Peters, even Talib, it's crazy to see these players all on the Rams nowby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
that's right right I can't believe I forgot about Gilbert. He was one of my favourite players at the time for no other reason than he was soooo big and quite fast with it. Still it's not a lot of good track record for doing such trade moves is it!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Suh loves the experience so much he decides to play for a discount. Maybe even Aaron thinks it's better having Suh and less double teams than breaking the Rams piggy bank!!! Then again pigs might fly!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
For a player with only 1 year remaining on contract? As much as I like getting Cooks it does seem a highly effective way of putting massive pressure on oneself to sign that player. Player really in contract driving seat. Especially if other domino's Donald and Joyner haven't fallen yet.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
however I feel stuck in neutral a little with this trade. I love that we've got another top WR that can take it deep and open things up for the offence. However it just does seem desperate to trade a 1st rounder for a guy on a 1 yr contract when NE gave up a 1st for him last year. But we didn't have a 2nd rounder to play with so we gave our 1st. In the past didn't these trades go down as a signby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
was apparently interested and if theirs less bidding might not pay too much if Giants really ready to move on.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
The draft has been a true love of mine since I first got into Am Football when I was 8 and visiting LA from Australia. I always hated it when they traded away picks especially first rounders! Still I like what Cooks brings to the Offence and if they get him signed long term I'll feel even better - Kroenkes money after all. I should say I really appreciate your draft postings and often use tby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Ram43 I too think at the end of next season we'll be surprised by Cooks impact. From what I've read and remember they tried trading for Cooks first of last off-season even though there were Watkins rumblings out of Buffalo (due to production and mostly injury) and no 5th year option. So maybe Cooks really is the player McVay sees as the one to make his offense tick. For interest how does Cookby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you ZN. This is not a one year deal, Snead and McVay will continue to be aggressive in the off-season to add players that fit their needs. Fans and mostly the draftniks of us hate lossing potential high picks, but at the same time if the Rams keep winning no one really cares!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
now let me first qualify that with I actually like the Trade for Cooks, except I think we paid too much. Reasons: 1: Cooks is in 5th and final year, so cheaper than FA money but still step up from normal 1st rounder money. 2: Final year! - he'll be a FA next year and up goes his per year costs dramatically, which could also lead us to not signing him ala Watkins. 3: A 1st for a one yeaby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I hear what you saying, and it is all too easy to think we have oodles of cap space but after some of these big contracts are finalised.... we won't. I think Suh might have interest after this year but probably didn't want to commit to more than 1 year to see if it works out and he likes playing in Wades 3/4. Also I wouldn't bank of cheap contracts for Hav or JB. OL seem to be able to getby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I hadn't seen him, just thought his bio was of some interest. But no loss by the sound of it.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
NFL.com said Jets claimed him, but also said Raiders released him last week. I thought waivers only lasted 48hrs and then your a FA? I'm surprised no Ram interest. Didn't see the Raiders last year and apparently he didn't have a good year, but previous years and draft bio we're interesting. Oh well a Jet now.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Reading the draft thinkings of our resident Rams draft gurus is one of the highlights of this time of year. A Rams board, top by position and even your entire stacked board would be awesome. Being a Rams fan I've got to love the draft over the years...... eternal hope!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
That was the problem with Watkins.... actually it was that Buffalo didn't pick up his 5th year option due to his injurys etc.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
It's nice to know he's still serious about wanting to be better. A bit off a change from a few years ago when WR to practice with we're a scarce commodity.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought I posted this before but some how message got truncated..... In some ways it seems like a strange cintract redo. If cut or traded he cost us $5m dead money. After we redo him he cost $5m if cut and $4m if traded ( I think these are he numbers quoted..... happy to be correctef). Why not change it to $1m bonus and $4m guaranteed base. TA still gets his $5m but if we end up trading onlyby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I highly respect alyoshamucci scouting, and he does have intrigue if football is his commitment.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I've seen mocks with him going from 2nd to 5th round. Apparently from some publications (So unknown reliability as not self scouted) he doesn't created separation in routes, lack of suddeness, not great at fighting for the ball and generally not producing as much as expected. However height speed mix intriguing and if he lasted to the later rounds is definitely take a flyer on him.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Interesting questions. My take is whether they are a Whitfield replacement or not having a quality back up OT is essential and gives Kroner a year to work with them. We always hear about the draft not being good for this or that position... but quality players always seem to be found. Remember all the chat the year Goff was drafted about there not being QB worth of the top picks.... yet how dby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I find it strange that the Rams did this sort of redo. Why didn't they give him aby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree with you to a point. It matters to me that as a team we win playing fair and with general sportsmanship (class). However that's not to say during the game that you don't want your corners trying to get into the head of the other teams best WR to throw them off their game etc.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Considering his injury history and retirement potential. Love to have him as a Goff security option. But realistically looking at other trades is offer a 6th max. Speaking as an X RB with ruined knees, they sure feel better when I'm back in warm Sydney than permanently cold Scotland!!by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Hey just give us some sort of picks and we might be up for trading our best player!! Gentleman is now playing the game. Yep they might well keep him, but I reckon he's first trying to gauge the level of interest while not totally burning the bridge between player and Team. Why would they say anything less than an outstanding offer would do it yet. I'm not sold either way whats the bezt forby OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
Has the leverage. So I think your right, when any team trading for him at the level of a 1st plus when he is on his 5th year option, is going to want to have a good chat to really know what he'll sign for. And I guess if he's not keen on the team he'll either say so or just give a crazy number. So other than the Giants FTagging him for 2 years he does have some power in any potential trade.by OzRam - RamsFootballFans.com
