I recently obtained a special copy of the 2001 NFC Championship from a member of this board. It was put on DVD straight from a DVR. Most games from that period were originally recorded on a VCR and then converted to DVD later (years and even decades later in many cases). When you go straight from DVR to DVD, the video is always in digital form, and the quality is much nicer than something that waby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
...Goff and some of his teammates seem to be oblivious to the fact that they are playing in a big game.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff would have to go an entire season without having any of his patented turd games before I will regain confidence in him. Given the frequency of such games, I see little hope that will happen. Goff seems to be approaching the end game of his career with the Rams. If so, hopefully it won't be as long and painful as with previous Rams QBs.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not going to get involved in a debate because there really isn't anything to debate. Any QB who has absolutely dreadful games as frequently as Jared Goff just ain't the QB that you want running your offense.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
At times when the Rams are first and goal or otherwise in a position of strength, it is disturbing how often McVay suddenly seems to lose his focus in calling the game. I have been noticing this since 2017. It would be nice to see him correct this weakness.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

Kicker is an essential position that can make the difference between a win and a loss in a crucial game. If the Patriots didn't have a good kicker in the 2001 Super Bowl, that game might have gone to overtime. If the Rams didn't have a kicker with a strong enough leg to hit a 57 yard field goal, they might not have made it to the Super Bowl in 2018. It seemed like a blunder when the Rams drafted Sloman. That choice has indeed proved to be a terrible mistake, and it's disturbing that it seemed to have something to do with nepotism. It's amazing that NFL teams often make bad decisions that are obvious even to fans, such as when the Rams made a series of glaring blunders in 1996 by trading Jerome Bettis, drafting Lawrence Phillips, and selectinby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

In my opinion, the Cardinals' uniforms are just plain ugly with no redeeming value. I have seen much worse than the uniforms the Seahawks were wearing last night.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
How's that for an attention grabbing subject? I had just gotten out of the hospital after having surgery for prostate cancer, and I was wearing Depends as a precaution. It turned out that I was fortunate to regain full bladder control almost immediately after the surgery. I will never forget that game or the memorable run that the Rams made at the end of that season to make it to the Super Bowl.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
It took a while, but I finally located the box that needs to be checked. It didn't stick out to me. I'm not very good at spotting things, and this may explain why I seem to step on snakes more often than others!by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

...as long as the Rams win out against those teams. They should be able to win all three games if the Dr. Jekyll version of the Rams shows up rather than the Mr. Hyde version. Or did I get that backwards? In football, it might be better to be Mr. Hyde.by L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
It was smart to kick the FG rather than trying to get a little closer (and waste precious time in the process). If they had gotten the on-side kick, that strategy might have paid off. The decision to kick the FG when they did was the only sensible thing to do in terms of the simple math of the situation. It is amazing how often NFL coaches don't seem to understand simple math. So I must give Peteby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

It occurred to me that the 2020 Rams have some parallels to the 1971 and 1972 Rams, which had Tommy Prothro as the head coach. On offense, both teams had some good players but used a gimmicky, smoke-and-mirrors approach to try to compensate for a lack of premier talent. Of defense, both teams had some great players. Overall, both teams had games in which they looked good, they were competitive enby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com

Thanks for posting that interesting article. In the part about rolling out to open up passing lanes, I was reminded about one of the unusual aspect of yesterday's game: Why did Goff have so many passes deflected at the line of scrimmage? McVay's offense is smoke and mirrors. Lots of motion and misdirection to fool the opposing defense. All teams use this approach to an extent, but it's the main thing with McVay's offense. Other teams have figured out that they can shut it down by just remaining in certain basic defensive formations and not over-reacting. Combine that approach with putting pressure on Goff, and the punter becomesby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
If they weren't two of the ugliest games in Rams history, I would go back and watch the Rams game with the Dolphins in 1998. It would be interesting to apply the eye test and see which Rams QB looked worse. I cannot image that Banks looked any worse that day than Goff did today. I have a feeling that this game was Goff's Waterloo. He just didn't look like a legitimate veteran NFL QB out there todby L.A.Rams - RamsFootballFans.com
I am becoming very concerned with the future of the Rams with Goff at QB. He has great games, but he has other games in which he makes numerous awful plays that a good QB should rarely make.by L.A.Rams - Game Time Forum
