I recently obtained a special copy of the 2001 NFC Championship from a member of this board. It was put on DVD straight from a DVR. Most games from that period were originally recorded on a VCR and then converted to DVD later (years and even decades later in many cases). When you go straight from DVR to DVD, the video is always in digital form, and the quality is much nicer than something that was originally captured on a VCR. Such recordings started becoming common several years later, but I'm not aware of any other games from that early that were captured in digital form. While watching part of that game again, it occurred to me that, although none of us probably realized it at the time, it was to be the last hurrah of Kurt Warner and the GSOT. Who would have thought it? The Rams had just finished 14-2 and scored 500+ points for the third year in a row. They had just drafted four players in the top 42 picks (three in the first round) to replenish their defense to go along with one of the most potent offenses in NFL history.
