Do we have the ball after a punt? Have we punted yet?by RFL - Game Time Forum
Guys, the ESPN game log thing keeps saying we pass short ... and it's incomplete. Is there a pattern why we can't even complete short throws?by RFL - Game Time Forum
2 and 2 at our 48. And we run TG to lose 2? No play action downfield? Really? On 2nd and 2?by RFL - Game Time Forum
Lance fumbled the ball away? And we picked it off in our EZ? Zowie.by RFL - Game Time Forum
He needs to make plays. And to do that he has to risk bad results. As long as they sit on him and he sits on the game, we'll remain stuck in offensive purgatory.by RFL - Game Time Forum
Why was he given a big contract extension? In my view he is a distracting temptation for our coaching staff. As long as they can fiddle with him and get a flash play now and then, they can avoid responsibility for establishing the basics. Like passing the ball 10-20 yards downfield.by RFL - Game Time Forum
And an NFL defense playing under these conditions is just about unblockable on a consistent basis. Every DL and LB in the league is a freakish athlete. Beating them is a matter of gaining a fine edge. And if you don't force these guys to think, then only a truly great, HOF OL can get that edge going. Look, the pattern hasn't changed since Fisher got here. It's about the coaching, silly.by RFL - Game Time Forum
It's more than the 8 in the box issue. It's about movement and reaction. A defense reacts. And it reacts according to its expectations. The more that the offense conforms to the defense's expectations, the easier it is for each defender to read and react, to pursue, to instantly do the right thing. It's when you get a defense guessing, wrong footed, that they become much easier to blockby RFL - Game Time Forum
We know what's coming. So do the defenses we face. You can ask OL to play well, but by themselves, they can't overcome the malaise of a team that has no faith in passing.by RFL - Game Time Forum
Of course, I am not seeing it. But, again, if a defense has no respect for the passing game, it's almost impossible to block it with any consistency. It's about alignment but also about commitment. If an NFL DL focuses on the run, they are much harder to block than if they are trying to play pass and run at the same time. The pattern has to change or we will keep floundering. Goff has tby RFL - Game Time Forum
Well, I dunno about consistently. But Britt is a solid NFL WR. With a big body. We can't go to him with slants now and then on early downs? I don't believe it. We don't have all pros. But we have enough to work with to throw medium passes a lot more than we do.by RFL - Game Time Forum
Last drive, we had the ball at mid-field. You gotta try to do something there. Now we're inside our 10 again. Pretty damn hard to believe in this team.by RFL - Game Time Forum
2 short gains running. 1 short pass, 2 yards short of moving the chains. I'm not seeing the game, so I dunno how much is on Goff. But man the pattern sure seems to be the same as always. And from good field position. If the pattern continues, the D will cheat back up again as they do for Keenum. Goff has yet to change the dynamic. Throw downfield on 1st down!by RFL - Game Time Forum
OL play is affected by many, many factors. And it is affected by rhythm--getting into and out of rhythm. You're firing out at moving personnel. How they move can make it much easier or harder to engage and sustain a block. Offensive balance affects OL play. So does momentum--positive or negative. It's a dynamic as old as football. I've experienced it, and it is amazing how the degree oby RFL - Game Time Forum
Was the challenge concerning the spot?by RFL - Game Time Forum
This has been the problem since Sam was healthy and playing for us. I am not sure Goff has earned RESPECT yet, but at least a bit of caution. It's up to him to do enough to drive the DBs off the LOS. Been a long time coming ...by RFL - Game Time Forum
I'm probably way behind, but apparently we got a nice stop. It's so important to get stops after an offense gets a few 1Ds and a bit of rhythm. Good work, guys. Now quit giving up 30+ yard runs!by RFL - Game Time Forum
Man, I get nervous about those live feeds. You trust them?by RFL - Game Time Forum
Hi, guys. Frustrated to not be able to see Goff's 1st start. Just following the comments here and the ESPN game log. 1 thing perhaps to look for. The best way to get a young QB going is to give him throws ON 1st DOWN! Put him in the hole with 3 and long after predictable running game failures, and it's damn tough. I gather that happened on drive 1? Then, apparently, he got some early down tby RFL - Game Time Forum
Is anyone surprised? I mean, really surprised? I'll let you folks answer that for yourselves. But, see, for me, this team is doing what Fisher Ram teams have always done. This Season fits his historical pattern with us. (I dunno about before he came to us.) Lack of preparation for Game 1? Check--every year but last year. Misleading "big wins" against tough teams, especially in oby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
I thought several of the comments in the thread missed what RR was saying. Which, BTW, I agree with ... if I am hearing him accurately. For example, I don't think he is going to quit on the season if they don't win Sunday. He doesn't appear to me to be making any prediction at all, including a prediction on the consequences of losing this game. The question we face NOW is how to assess whatby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
QuotemaxSo how many times do I have to be shocked to think they are better than 7 wins? I see a team that is starting to feel it. It's a very good question, Max. And you do well to mention the difference between winning several games to get out in front and winning a few games when you're already 2-3 games below .500, out of the playoffs, and looking merely for a .500 season. Every seasoby RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSpeed_Killshere's the shocker if the Rams actually now turn around and best the Bills at home like they should. If they don't want to be a 7 win team you best the Bills at home This is a huge game dude Which, given Fisher's track record, would suggest they'll lose it. We've beaten AZ and SEA, 2 teams we know really well and have beaten recently. And the same is true of TB, really.by RFL - RamsFootballFans.com
