Sure does feel like Samuel and Meinerz are the frontrunners Dead! I am really curious as to why the perceived lack of contact with Dickerson (injury??) or Humphrey. Cant help but being a little concerned about Meinerz level of competition and that he hasnt played football in quite some time. Humphrey was at Senior bowl also if memory serves me and by all accounts performed outstanding. Maybeby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
agree!!! i suspect the Rams are staying open minded about their pick at #57 but i also suspect that all else being equal, targeting a CB would get the nod if one they like is available when they are on the clock.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
with Carberry now coaching OL for the Rams, it wouldn't be a surprise that Dalman is in play. I personally am hoping for Humphrey (assuming he is there) at 57. if we want Meinerz i think we will have to take him at 57 as well as his stock is soaring. all that said, I don't get the feel the Rams will target a C at 57 and perhaps not even at 88 as i think they are hoping either Corbett or Anchruby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I too am in the "No" camp. I am still hopeful that one of the LTs drop in the draft as I believe LT, and for that matter, the Oline is an are of concern when you consider that Boom, Corbett, Shelton, Brewer and Allen are all FA next year and this is likely Whit's last year. That is 3 starter, maybe 4 depending on whom assumes the Center position this year. That basically leaves Edwardby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Although i appreciate the optimism with Noteboom, just not sure i agree. other than QB, LT is the most important position on the field. I think you always have your eyes out for an opportunity to draft a LT. Also, I think he is a FA after this season so having alternatives would be a good thing. IF one of the LTs drops (Little, Leatherwood, Radunz) i think you have to at least strongly considerby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
i see Jackson the WR as somebody that contributes this year. I think Anchrum is going to be a starter on the Oline, maybe not this year, but in the future and i have a feeling Xavier Jones is going to impress enough to where we will allow Henderson to move on. I also have a sneaky suspicion that JR Reed is going become a name fans are familiar with.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
great return guy but just a one trick pony. would rather have someone that offers depth elsewhere. what about Adoree Jackson? Great return guy with excellent speed, depth at CB and can even provide some trickery on offense.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
agree pretty much with your list. C without a doubt is a need and i am hoping for Creed early or Meinerz later (3rd) in the draft. I would probably elevate LOT to the 2nd spot as I am just not sold on Noteboom as the long-term heir to Whit. if one of LOTs slips to 57 I am punching their ticket. I have always wanted a thumper at LB but a nasty Edge rusher would be a welcome addition. crossingby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
i believe a WR will be drafted as i don't see us signing one in FA. I dont think it will be early unless one of the elite or near elite guys falls. I think it will after the 4th round and it will focus on size with good or better speed. Previous return experience will be a plus. I don't see Webster making the team. i also wont be surprised if Reynolds finds his way back to the Rams on a cheaby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Wow! The Rams really wanted to get rid of Goff for Stafford. A huge dead cap hit, a 3rd round pick, Two No. 1 picks and now we pay an additional $2.5M in bonus money against a cap we are already struggling to meet. Yikes!by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
i think i read somewhere where Rivers wont count in the 2022 comp pick calculations. Maybe others can confirm.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
That is what i believe will happen also. i think any cap savings from the Brockers release, ugh i mean trade will be used to secure Blythe on a 2 year deal. I think the Rams will draft Meinerz as they appear to be smitten with him (2 interivews). I would like Hudson or Andrews but i fear competition will be stiff, the price tags will be really high and the Rams seem to like the stability thatby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
The real kick in the groin is going to come when the money they saved is used to reup Blythe. I am chomping for Hudson or Andrews but both are pipe dreams. The Rams like Blythe. I would love to see Adoree Jackson as a slot corner and KR but i dont see it happening. Will Fuller would look great in Horns but he out of our range. Hope i am wrong.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
i wonder if some of the difference can be attributable to the 2020 carryover amount. I recall seeing something on the order of $5M that we didnt spend against last years cap that could be carried over to this years available cap. I expect mostly restructures from Ramsey, Donald and something with Stafford with the wildcards (release/trade) being Brockers, Hav and Hekker.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree, i am hopeful that Humphrey somehow is available at 57 and what if one of the OT slips?? i would almost bet $1 that the Rams trade down to recoup that third.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Didn't a similar scenario happen with the selection of Eddie Kennison over Marvin Harrison?by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Muti or Biadiazby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I think Niang is more of right tackle prospect. we have plenty of those. Hoping for Biadyz or Prince Wanogo, although Auburn OL give me nightmares now. Could be Gaither also.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
A move up for Jones would be a solid and prudent move IMO. By the infamous draft value chart, the first pick of RD 2 (33) is worth 580 points. Trading number 52 and 84 would be worth 550, roughly equal. Assuming that Cincy would be willing to move, the Rams could make this trade up to get Jones and then work a slight trade down with .57 to get a pick back in the 90-95 range. It is more probablby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Going up for Jones would be a wise move IMO. I don't have faith that Boom is the answer and LT is the second most important position on the team. If the Rams could get up without sacrificing both 2nds, I hope they make the move. I don't believe Jones will make it to 52.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I wouldn't consider him at all, carbon copy of Brian Allen. we need a bigger C. IMO, the center position is of our biggest needs. Blythe is a stopgap and Brian Allen is backup material. Unfortunately, I think the Nick Harris pick is already in the cue and I wouldn't be surprised if we reach for him in Rd 3. Ugh!!!!by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree, Tavon 2.0. enough of the smurfs that get pushed around. wouldn't like it but wouldn't be surprised. hoping for a bigger, more physical though.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
IMO, the jury is still out on Henderson. there just is not enough evidence to know what the Rams have. Brown is nothing special, JAG and easily replaced. He will be a FA next year and the RAMS would be wise to look for his successor. I had high hopes for Kelly as a Volunteer fan but it appears as if he maxed out in college. RB or at least RB depth is a big hole on this team. If Taylor or Dobby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
didn't they give up a 2022 4th in the Cooks trade with Houston??by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Size is also my concern with Hamler and I see visions of Tavon Austin. These smaller receivers scare me due to their troubles in getting off the line and beating press coverage. They have a tendency to getting held up at the LOS and blowing up any timing routes. I would rather have a little more size.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I sure hope your right. My comp for Nick Harris was also Brian Allen - very similar builds/sizes. I would like a center that can carry 320pounds and move with a little height at well. I worry though as the Rams have an affinity with Washington players. I don't know if is a west coast, proximity thing or what. I really like Rapp but not sure on Gaines. I am also concerned they may have Adams aby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Nice work Deadpool! I absolutely believe that Brooks is their Rd 2 target, hopefully after a small trade back but he may be the pick at #52. If any of trip of RBs (Swift, Dobbins or Taylor) are there or Lewis (Edge) from Bama is there it would make for some excitement. but in the end I think it is Brooks in Rd 2.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree. McSnead seem to generally have an eye on the future. Isnt 2020 a contract year for Brown? I recall we matched a 2 year offer last offseason by Detroit for him. I think this is his swan song with the Rams and they will be looking to find his replacement. I don't believe there is any confidence in Kelly. I only think they would consider Swift, Dobbins (my choice) or Taylor at 52. I thinkby montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
I agree DtC that Moss is on the Rams radar. My only concern is the mileage on those tires.by montanaram - RamsFootballFans.com
