The key for unlocking the passing attack is having a high percentage of favorable down and distance situations. The JGoff offenses were so good because they dominated on first down. I forget the numbers but those offenses barely got to third down. They were so successful on first and second down. Hopefully we can repeat that history. And put the years of 0 yard 1st and 10 runs in the rearby cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Anyone on the Rams wearing 99 I'm calling Aaron Donald. Letting anyone else wear that jersey is beyond insulting.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Great clip. Thanks for posting.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Couldn't agree more. Murch is a good pass rushers. Playing out of position. Hustles. All those guys lack opportunity as well. Can't think of a more negative thread.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Half a year to scheme up for Goff? We better win. McVay should have plenty of disguided route combinations for the Lions young secondary.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
On the PickIsIn show, McVay said '...manage the player not the person.' I think that simple statement speaks volumes for culture and winning. This team is in LA and I can't remember the last drama I heard about. Stetson is all I can remember and the player handled that well imo.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Haven't seen this in the forum yet. It's good. Unseen Rams draft room footage.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Anyone have thoughts on who the 3rd Make A Ram player was? I'm thinking they must have filtered out players they didn't think would be available. Only one of the wrs was a make a ram?by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
The incentive to kick the ball in bounds, touch back to 20 versus 30, is high. Teams are highly incentived to kick in bounds. I think one big benefit of this will be less penalties on kickoff. Well, once everyone understands the rules. The slower moving kicking team players should be easier to block. I'm excited to see the kickoff now. Whereas before I could not care less.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

I wonder if having a lead more often and a larger lead would be a bigger factor than Donald's absence.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Anyone who watched the Rams Dolphins game in 2020 understands McVay treated Goff fine. I would have benched Goff forever and not spent an calorie of energy coaching that guy again after that game.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. Thanks for being open to other possibilities.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
My opinion is anyway we can reduce the number of threads with no discussion is best. Say 50 percent of articles generate discussion, we have 50 percent less threads and you still have an entire thread dedicated to that article. Maybe we have a thread like the article thread but just for discussions about those articles.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
It's so much better now. If you want to have a convo about a specific article start a thread.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com

Agreed. All the articles should be their own forum. But I'm the minority opinion.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
One thing that could help the sacks is more opportunity. If the offense can get and hold leads that will force more passing situations unto the opposing offense. These forced passing situations are where a high percentage of sacks are made. I expect both sides of the ball to be materialy better on first down this year. I care alot. But I'm interested in the value of the synergy of two close players from the same team. That synergy could be worth the extra two. Nfl games are won on big plays. If that synergy adds 2 big plays a game it is more than worth a 2nd or a first. I love this cutting edge strategy that they execute. Whether it works or not the process seems sound.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
I was thinking this morning if it's better to have an offense that is unstoppable or a defense that can't be scored on....better to have the offense because you are guaranteed points. Games won't be 0-0 ever.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
If Murphy is long gone which I expect and the medical is clean then Latu. If no Latu and no Murphy, Newton or a trade down.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
Agreed. Which makes the discussion even more interesting...Holt the lesser player, though still borderline hall of famer at a position that is not a need but highly correlated w winning. Take an extreme example--Rams last year who adds more to winning Puka or prime Reggie White?by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
The analysis is more nuanced than this flat tire a budget scenario. Consider a defense. The Rams current defense with holes. Does adding x, y, and z defensive players help the team win games, produce a better defense, both? For me I look at the player and how that player contributes to winning games. Adding an offensive player could add more value to winning than adding a defensive player.by cool_hand_luke - RamsFootballFans.com
