I see it as a simple formula. I post about this a lot. But this is an appropriate place for it. A study says that good teams spend about 60% of their cap on 10 big contracts. The Rams won't meet that exact formula because they have both AD and Goff to handle. With those 2 on the books when Goff gets paid, it will probably be more like 8-9 big contracts total. In 2017 the Rams D was 30th on yards per carry allowed but the YPC was less (4.7) The only real difference between 2017 and 2018 was attempts. QuoteOld Goat • What else can we say about McVay? His offense is spectacular. Les Snead is quick on the trigger when the roster looks soft in one place. The Rams are in an amazing position to win the Super Bowl this year. But … will voters who tend to get bored and follow the next story give him the nod twice in a row? QuoteJamesJM and I LOVE that at least one team is making a show of the art of defense. Hate that it's the Cowboys, however. BUT... that said, and although I think Dallas has a good defense... QuoteJamesJM and this is very unfair to Martz.... I can't really celebrate Martz the way I should, the way he deserves, because of Vermeil... and the 'fact' that Vermeil is given so little credit for that SB team... Some have suggested that the Saints run D is just an effect of teams abandoning the run because they fall so far behind. I don't think that's the case and it certainly wasn't in this game. Before this game, the Saints run D was certainly very low in attempts (the lowest, at 224) but they were also tied for 1st with the Bears in yards per attempt allowed (3.6).
