I think it's for certain that Suh and Joyner will not be with this team next season.
Yeah, I agree.
And that's a lot of money they can spend for a lot more value.
They can get a run stuffer at less than half what they are paying Suh. Joyner can be replaced in house for a bargain.
I don't think they will have any trouble paying Goff. Not sure what they will do with Peters but he should be a lot cheaper than originally thought.
Joyner was always gone. That was whether he played well or not.
And yes, the way the cap is working now, they can easily afford Goff, even though that contract will be a whopper. But that contract does not go on the books until 2021. They are well provisioned for that.
Still as has come up before, since they will have both JG and AD under contract in 2021, there's only a few other big contracts they can have on the books. Usually good teams spend around 60% on their top 10 contract. With both JG and AD it will have to be top 8 or 9 contracts. The guys already under contract with deals of 7+ M or more for 2021 include Donald, Cooks, Gurley, Woods, and Hav. Add Goff to that and its 6. That means they can only have 2-3 more big contracts by 2021. A good management group can pull that off. It shouldn;t hurt them to be in that situation. But that also means they can't keep everyone.
Next year they are set, Suh or no Suh. They have cap space to spare. The real hard decisions don;t kick in until 2021.
