2018: Ranked 20th in points and 20th in yards
In 2017 they briefly improved in points over 2016.
In terms of yards, neither 2017 nor 2018 have they equalled what they did in 2016.
So I wouldn;t say "the D has not enjoyed near the complete turnaround, has it?" That's a little too coy I think. I would say they haven't changed at all when you look at just the numbers.

Point taken, zn. The term “turnaround” might have been too strong. Our previous D’s were not nearly as pathetic as the Fisher O’s.
But still?
I think we all expected an improvement from the former 12th to 23rd rankings, right?
After the Wade hire and especially after bringing in all those elite type players?
Was top 5 unreasonable to expect? I sure don’t think so. McVay took us from worst to first in the first year by way of example. I would certainly think that the experienced Wade could have achieved top 5 status within 2 years. I mean, the O often handed him big leads and rarely failed to put up big points to ease his task. When one’s O is averaging 35.4 ppg there should be very few cliffhanger games, don’t you think? A high scoring O makes Wade’s D job easier, not harder.
Fair enough?
Yes we did. We expected more improvement. Now it's a matter of (1) seeing if they can tighten things up some in the final run and post-season, (2) waiting for next year and seeing if they can make it happen in a more comprehensive way
