QuoteCraigMatson Did see him push a guy wide once I think they have another offensive lineman over there who's also bad so it not all Robinson who getting beat. Maybe on the stats they aren't counting a stunt against him ?. Is there a possibility that where he's set is close enough to another OL where they are charged for the negative play?. Seems the logical answer besides in some directioby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM who is stumping for Demby to replace Hekker. Well it's simple clear rational logic. No matter what anyone says about Demby's blocking, he's still better at it than Hekker.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSaguaro And he just keeps galloping and stumbling and flapping his wings (usually in slow motion). It looks like he's never going to get airborne, but when he does it's beautiful. Let's hope the offense can finally get airborne one of these weeks. I do like the fact that they stay focused and the defense comes through when the offense needs help. I don't know if they're elite eitby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM with that smug face of Pete on the sideline. My GOD but that guy is annoying. He could field the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and I STILL wouldn't like his team. - JamesJM Well, if they did field the MTC, I especially wouldn't like them.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit QuoteznActually...no one knows yet, because they just played 3 of the worst teams in the league. I find that interesting because there is a lot of talk on this board about how good the Chiefs are even though they feasted on the likes of the Raiders and Jaguars before today. I don't think I've read anything stating that the Chiefs 'Haven't played anyone' so I wonder if that isby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM but not in this case, IMHO... it's Mahomes. Of course the scheme helps, and can optimize his production, but Mahomes is a rare bird indeed. I agree. Mahomes would be a top player for pretty much anyone. ...by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit QuoteJamesJM they're ugly. Hahaha! This sounds like the familiar song we sing every season doesn't it? Is this finally the year? Stay tuned, but we've played this scene before haven't we? Well, no. No one drew any conclusions about the Patz. Just saying that if they have not played anyone, they are essentially an unknown right now. No one said they were out of itby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteClassicalwit . . . but the New England Patriots have been seen about town wearing that Vince Lombardi look. They haven't played anybody. Steelers without BR are 0-2 and both their offense and defense are historically low for them (28th and 29th respectively). Then Miami? (32nd and 32nd). A Jets team with huge injury issues? (31st O, 21st D). They have just played the 32nd,by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDavid DeaconLittleton is the top priority right now as we don't have depth at his position . They do though. The Rams reportedly love Howard, and he is a natural for Littleton's role. ....by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamkind The media is completely focused on Gurley. They don't think he is healthy, so they don't think the Rams are that good right now. I think he has looked pretty good actually, and I understand limiting his reps a little, but that doesn't mean that the media won't be fixated on the issue every single week until they are either proven right and Gurley ends up out for part of the season orby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM I'll be headed home from watching the Blue Angels. "5 minutes?", you ask, "why in the hell are you complaining about 5 lousy minutes?" The answer is easy... because it's 5 whole minutes of Ram football gone like a fart in the wind. Who knows what could happen to the Rams without my viewing support? McVay might trip on a roll of athletic tape and drown in anby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteAlbaNY_Ram I'm with you: I wouldn't be surprised if any of Edwards/Evans/Demby/Neary could step in at RG next year and give the Rams what Blythe gives them. My big concern is with Whitworth likely retiring after the season that 'Boom will move to LT, creating a hole at LG. The Rams might not want to replace both guards at the same time. One small thing. They waived Neary, injury settlementby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams QuoteSuh-weet! Quotesstrams that I admire the Pats for something.. They obviously have a "team" mentality and won't put up with distractions... Good for them... They still suck... I def don't think they're worthy of admiration for releasing him. Never mind that they picked him up to begin with in the face of credible allegations of horrific behavior. They released him bby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quote3030 Now brain power doesn't make up for a lack of ability, but if you want to know why he's on the team, and why he keeps getting his chances, this might be why. It's because they think he will learn and develop. If they had no faith in that he would be gone. They had plenty of OL candidates in camp. They have 3 more on the roster after the starters and then 2 more on IR.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 To me it's at least regular season games played. In his case, still one. When the Rams went after Ryan Groy from the Bills in 2017 he had played 25 games with 10 starts over 3 years. That to me is a veteran backup. I think they'll be fine with Demby for a game or two at RG. But I do wish that Garrett Reynolds-type was here. Speaking of Groy, notice what happened with him? He wasby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 I put Johnson and Kupp at the top with Littleton 3rd. And 3rd mainly just due to the position and ability to replace that spot easier. Johnson and Kupp are on the cusp of being Pro Bowl players. Johnson and Rapp could become the best safety duo in the league for years to come. Not sure Littleton ever would become a Pro Bowler but he's one of those guys that is not great at anything butby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 1 NFL start does not a veteran make... I see your point. But to me it's years in the league, not starts. It just means someone is past being a rookie and knows how to be a pro.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quoteferragamo79 I just do not think they had the money. Only so much room under the cap. Neary. He got injured. They picked up another. Coleman Shelton. He replaces Neary but he hasn't been a Ram long enough to know the system. ...by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams Well I'm kind of glad to see the faint praise. He can't be that happy. They have like a 48% pressure rate if I'm recalling accurately what I read somewhere yesterday. That said, I also believe him when he says they have confidence in the group including Demby. He must possess the qualities he's looking for or else they would have acquired a backup vet. I don't believe we're at fby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotedzrams Maybe you judge him very negatively because you are looking for an OL who can compete physically when Kromer may be looking for the guy who excels in moving given his ZB scheme. You acknowledge that he has excellent feet. And you acknowledge that McVay and Kromer are experts in getting the D to move laterally. So it's possible that the physical weaknesses that you're seeing areby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotehubestar I read/heard some critique on the Rams interior OL as reason why the outside zone runs have not been successful. Just watched/read these three twitter posts that explained why the Rams ran so many strongside toss cracks against the Saints front, and why they were successful Yeah that's good stuff.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteJamesJM first of all... I agree with everything you say about "The Coaches Are Always Right"... that ain't true, and yes we as fans can interpret what our eyes tell us. however... and not that you're 'wrong'... your 'tone' AND assessment of Demby seems to me to be so far toward the negative that if true I can't imagine this coaching staff, or any coaching staff, missing that baby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotecool_hand_luke I wonder if this is the case of Kromer finding it better/easier to teach a non-Vet his scheme vs having to change/break habits of established Vets. Have no clue but I agree with your thought about a vet and a decent vet backup interior lineman is not the cost prohibitive. Kromer has successfully incorporated vets into his OLs going back more than a decade. Heck the Rams OLby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
Quotemax He hasn’t had a run where we could see what his top end speed looks like. No, that’s not it. It’s something else, it’s either he lots his burst and suddenness, or his mental approach isn’t as aggressive, just a sluggishness seems to have come over him. Is he fine? Well, he’s fine enough to win with, but he’s not the fine old Gurley who looked destined for the HOF. Well we'll seeby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
So far it looks like he may have lost a top end gear, but he's still a top productive back and it shows. He has 160 yards on 30 carries (avg. 5.3 a carry, 7th among RBs with 25 or more carries). He has 4 receptions on 5 targets which just means his targets are down but that's not going to remain like that. He also has 2 TDs in 2 games on a team that has its choice of playmakers. QuoteGlyndwr71 The bulk of the succesful runs seem to be to the outside. Yet to see runs up the gut work. Football Outsiders lists the Rams as 4th in terms of yards per play running up the middle.by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteLMU93 Wade needs pressure on the QB and playmakers in the secondary for his scheme to work. While they're deep at safety and having excellent safeties can really help young CBs, they do need to add there. Long is being pretty much redshirted but will have a bigger role in 2020. I still think Chris Harris from Denver could come to LA in 2020. They could also sign a jettisoned free agent likeby zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteSunTzu_vs_Camus dotcha think??? We let Peters go sign with someone else and take the comp...and Talib too. We'll have to draft 2 rookie CBs and another OL and DT. btw - I see us re-signing Fowler if he continues to play this way. QuoteDeadpool you do help me pad my post count. LOL As you well know, you cannot average 1 game. And since you obviously read my post, you know I also said that maybe you shouldn't even count the first game, and that I also said its too early (2 weeks into the season) to get too far into any of this with stats. So I think we agree on all of this. My main point is that right now, as I type,by zn - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteDeadpool He was miserable week 1 and good in week 2. So that averages out to a OK to me. I do not like where his internal clock is at right now, and I'm not sure he is seeing everything he should be. Maybe week 1 should be a pass, but he missed a ton of wide open WRs in week 1.
