Jeff Fisher's Rams led the league in total sacks from 2012-2015. Goes to tell you how important sacks are. Go Rams!by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I love how Goff stands in the face of pressure on this play and drops the ball on a dime 20 yards downfield in between 3 defenders. Goff show's great anticipation here as he lets the ball go 15 yards before Woods gets to ball. Cards show Cover 1 then play Cover 3 Zone and rush 5. Cooks running straight up field for a clear out on left side. Woods on right and Kupp on left running deep crosses.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
This picture says alot about Goff's maturity and trust with his receivers. Can't tell here, but Cards are playing Cover 1. Not easy to complete a post route against Cover 1. Especially with this good coverage from the DB. Goff basically had to throw this ball over 20 yards into the perfect spot. Goff is throwing to the right and is already in his throwing motion yet Cooks is still to the leftby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Everyone remembers this. Woods is still dreaming about this ball... Goff missed a layup on this one.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Totally agree. Goff is making leaps and bounds even just from week 1. I thought he made some Aaron Rodgerseque throws on Sunday against Cards. I'll see if I can find stills...by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Cards bring 8 guys to LOS. Goff audibles for Gurley to block middle. Cards rush 7. Safety on right side comes free and is already imagining his highlight sack on ESPN. Note: If Goff tells Gurley to block right, this could've been a TD to Woods. Instead, Goff is ripping off a safety from his legs like velcro. He rolls right and gets on the same page as Cook improvising his way to getby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Thanks. I miss B&G though. He gives more color and technicality. The Rams probably told him to stop posting because he's giving Rams opponents great study material.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
This is one of those bunch plays where the Rams do quick snap and the slant out is wide open because the D is usually not ready. Higbee scores on this play later during the game. I blame this on Whitworth. Whitworth is just standing there watching the RE. AW should've known that this is a quick pass play. He should have had his hands on that RE. Either blocking the RE in or blasting him ouby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff really impressed me this past Sunday. He was pressured a lot in this game, and he hung in there and made some clutch throws into tight windows. And he threw his receivers open. He could've easily got 3 more TD's and a perfect QB rating. And the Cardinals D was not a bad D. If Goff keeps playing like this, this team will be hard to stop.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff can make this throw. He was pulling the trigger on these throws all game. And I've seen him practice this throw beautifully in training camp. It's where the QB's roll right and throw the ball in the end zone. Throw away instead, and GZ kicks a monster 55 yard FG at end of drive. Cooks and Woods blowing by the safety is something I'm greatly looking forward to seeing more often. Their routby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Another thing is that Woods and Cooks had safety help on those bombs, and they were both just blowing by two defenders each time. That's crazy. And Goff was so close to hitting them. Go Rams!by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
McVay is a genius. OAK show Cover 1 then play Cover 2 zone and rush 6. Goff has 4 guys open within 2 seconds. Decided to go to Cooks for a big gain. Though I think a throw to Woods running down the seam here would've been a TD. Where's B&G? We need a more detailed breakdown on these plays.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Goff can make this throw. He had plenty of time. He just needs to read the safety and realize that he was out of position on Reynolds for a second. Would've been a big play.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Mid 3rd Q. OAK 13. LAR 13. 3rd and 15 at LAR 35. OAK show Cover 2 pre-snap and play Tampa 2 Zone post snap. Goff gets plenty of time. Once he recognizes Tampa 2 Zone, he should've changed his primary to corner route on right side. Instead he stares down Kupp and passes him the ball behind the sticks. Corner route had a better chance for a first down and possibly a big play. 4th down and an awby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
2 TD's in 5 chances seems alarming as a red zone stat, but Rams had opportunities and were close to getting TD's... Early 2nd. OAK 10. LAR 7. 3rd and 8 at OAK 20. OAK show Cover 2 pre-snap and play Cover 2 man post snap. Everyone in the stands should know that the Woods singled up on the post route should be open. Protection broke down a bit, but this is a TD if Goff just hangs in there and thby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not concerned yet. Maybe I'm just too happy with the win. I know we only had 2 TD's in 5 trips. That's only 40% which would be second to last in 2017. But from looking at tape the opportunities were there, and we were close to getting TD's. And one of those trips the Rams already had a good lead, and McVay was playing for the FG. I'll see if can get some stills...by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I was surprised that TE's weren't targeted at all. Then from watching tape I only saw Higbee get open 3 times. Here's one of them. This was early third when Rams were down 3. It was a tight window, but Goff had a good idea here and would've got his 2nd TD if he just placed the ball more in front of Kupp. Easier throw would've been to Higbee, but I like that he's attacking the tight window andby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I know he missed a lot of the deep shots on Monday. But I like that he took the shot, and he let the ball go early. Goff and company will start hitting these deep shots soon I'm sure. McVay is a genius, and Goff is a huge weapon in his hands. The ball hit Cooks in the head on this one. Cooks came open but had to slow down for the ball and got the PI. Rams were down 3 late in 2nd and got a FGby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I think it will be close. With lots of FG's. Olson knows this offense and Goff well. I'm sure Gruden will come up with a good plan to stifle Rams offense. In the end, Rams D and Special Teams will make the diff. Go Rams!by govane - RamsFootballFans.com

24 preseason snaps is way too small and insignificant to make any "I told you so" comments. The author doesn't even include any all 22 film or mention anything specific he's seen in training camp. Then author provides positive comments from players and coaches regarding Watkins. Then says it's not too late to panic. And says things like "I hope that I'm wrong." Quotesnowman Mannion is a capable backup. He is what most teams have behind their starter, better than some. I really don't understand the concern about Mannion. I think we have a very good offensive line that will keep Goff from getting hurt, we have excellent running backs to take on a larger role in the offense if necessary and McVay has praised Mannion publicly more than once. Great throw by Goff. Bounces off Higbee's hands. Wilson makes a juggling INT while Higbee just watches instead of diving in there and breaking up an INT.by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams must've really liked what they saw from Cooks on tape much more than what Watkins showed them on the field for one season. Not only did they give up a 1st round pick. They also paid Cooks more than what Watkins got from the Chiefs. On the flip side, had the Rams signed Watkins instead, we could've had a 2018 first round pick on the roster and more flexibility with the cap. I'm jby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
I'm not liking these moves. What would you rather have... Brandin Cooks - $8M Lamarcus Joyner - $11M Ndamokung Suh - $14M or Sammy Watkins - $15M Tyrran Mathieu - $7M Jimmy Graham - $5M plus the 23rd pick in the draft Count me in the "tagged the wrong player" group. Watkins and Graham were top performers in the redzone. Cooks, not so much. Go Snead!by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamBill Since they never have pressers for players leaving a team (other than retirements).....probably a pretty good indicator he's re-signing here. Presser is for Watkins re-signing. NRC is just there to help answer questions regarding Watkins. I doubt Rams would have a presser for a nickel back resigning. That's what I hope any way.. lol. Go Rams!by govane - RamsFootballFans.com
Watkins only had 4 targets that day... Even though he was open many times for big plays. Compare that to Kupp who was targeted 13 times. Watkins first target came with 6 minutes left in the 1Q. His next target didn't come until 4:46 left in the 4th quarter with the Rams already down 13 points. If you want starters to be at their best, you need players involved. QuoteRamsdude why do you think they have not connected on these throws? Many have mentioned before... But my guess is that Goff is coached to only focus on a part of the field and not reading the whole field. And he's probably going to focus more on the side where his friends (Higbee and Kupp) are. And the receiver he's comfortable with (Woods). And it doesn't look like he will deviatby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
QuoteRamsdude No offense govane but I hope you're not going to do this for every game. You have made your point very clear in the other threads about this subject. We've seen these before...Sammy gets open...Goff doesn't throw the ball to him. We all get it. I don't need to see 800 game shots again to believe you. JMO. I would much rather know WHY Goff isn't getting the ball to him but I doubtby govane - RamsFootballFans.com
