Keep Gay and I'm fine getting rid or trading the others..... We are better off without Floyd--missing in action too often. Ramsey was so inconsistent and had turned into a head case. I'd rather have the young kids we have now on defense -- all with energy, talent, and "WANT"... But we sure could use Gay!! And the observations everyone is making about the OL is so true. If I had to guess, you make a good point and I agree with you. Brian Burns is a plausible target, since they tried to trade for him a few times (from all reports) and have always coveted him. He will be very expensive so we'll see how high in dollars Snead will go to get him. On another note, I predict that Snead will trade his first round draft pick this year to accumulate additional picks tby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Apologies for being wrong about the $70M. My main point is to give full credit to how well Snead has rapidly turned the team around with astute drafting in all rounds, and judicious FA signings, and a trade or two. What a dynamic duo to have leading the Rams with McVay and Snead.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Regardless of what happens for the remainder of the season, a big kudos to Les Snead! Let's stop and smell the roses -- many of which will be in bloom for years to come.... consider the following... well known but lots of "hits" both big and small... 1. Snead unloaded tons of starters and backups from last year's dismal team. Most of us, me included, thought this year would resulby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Thank you all! Your answers to my question make me more optimistic about the Rams getting in! Now please just beat the Giants. One worry: T. Taylor dinking and dunking (and scrambling) his way down the field to wide open receivers with the Rams playing a soft zone ....argh!!!by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Beyond Seattle losing one of their last two games, and the Rams beating the Giants (in this case, the Rams are in) OR the Rams winning both of their last two games, Are there plausible paths for the Rams to make the playoffs? Thanks for any insights.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I like the present talent and effort and intensity and productivity etc... of the current DL starters and depth. Keep clear of Sebastian Joseph-Day.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Excellent point! Please lock Dotson up. I think PFF has him the highest (or close to) graded guard in the NFL this season.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Very good point about Robinson becoming a FA. I didn't think of that. I hope Rams try to sign Robinson -- we don't want to lose him this offseason! He was really good in the pre-season this year, and then never saw the field, but that was a mistake. He's clearly way better than Tutu as an all around WR. Although I'd keep Tutu who has improved quite a bit, and presently is the only burner we haveby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes, several positions of need. Agree with you: Rams also need defensive backs (especially a really good corner). Also on the shopping list; pass rusher and probably OL. But ALSO -- WR. No way do Rams not bring in at least one really high draft pick at WR or big payday FA at WR. Heck, Kupp dropped two last night and he is just a step slower and getting injured all the time. He was great.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Rams will target two high quality WR's this coming off season. They will take WR high in the draft and/or spend big on WR in FA. Kupp is not the great Kupp we knew. That's just reality. Tutu is a backup and role player. That leaves the Rams with Puka and Robinson. Puka is a stud. Robinson is a solid WR 3. Expect an infusion of WR talent in the off-season. The Rams have to get McVay weapons to maby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yeah Ramkind! Agree with you...the video shows even Stafford is frustrated watching crap special teams and defensive play make it close at the end. He almost calls them out in his speech -- and he's telling everyone to listen up .. "finish the game... way too close .. ALL THREE PHASES"by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Leaving points equals high risk given our defensive backfield problems.by nantucketramfan - Game Time Forum
No! No! No! Staley wouldn't even be on my long list. He had success over a short period of time as a Ram's DC, but the stars of talent were aligned. He's been a dismal failure since. There has to be many other better candidates to be Ram's DC, if we need a new one.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Be optimistic as heck coach with the press and with the kid. What's the alternative? There is none. Any negativity from McVay now won't help this kid succeed and if he really believes McVay is behind him, so much the better. The proof will be in the pudding (or kicking, in this instance) regardless of what McVay does. So McVay's optimisim (even if for external consumption only) is the right taby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Does anyone know where we can see the post-game victory locker room video? The one usually on the Rams site but not this time. It usually shows McVay running around the locker room, dropping F bombs, all pumped up, and handing out game balls. Fun to watch. I can't find it.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Yes! OLB is a high value position due its huge impact on a team's overall pass rush. This is a position where you want superior players. Hoecht is a quality backup and can play in a good rotation for the Rams.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Agree!! Kendricks is a very weak link among our overall mediocre set of DB's Kendrick is tough, plays hard, is a pretty good tackler ... but is SLOW and has bad coverage skills -- he consistently gives up huge separation. In short, he's a bad NFL corner. If we had anyone else he should be phased out this year.by nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Gotta beat the Commanders! Don't sleep on these guys. We see week after week when any team can win against anyone else. My two keys to win follow. What are yours? 1. Need to pressure Sam Howell. If he has time, this kid can make every throw (including DEEP) and he's not timid. He can also run if we get sloppy and don't tackle well or contain him. Apply pressure when he passes, early andby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
I don't mean to be a party pooper, but our DB's (almost all of them!) just aren't good enough. We're getting the best we can out of pretty mediocre talent -- at CB and safety - kudos to the players and coaches for making that happen. Don't get me wrong, the effort is there. The play sometimes solid. But consistent coverage skills, speed, tackling, all are lacking. HELP WANTED: a few studs. My takby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
Hunter Long's started last game because his blocking is strong and he's a much better athlete than we have seen, yet. Long was a very dominant player --receiver and blocker -- at BC (strong teams then -- AJ Dillon, John Johnson, Matt Milano etc.) going up against best of ACC (when ACC was strong; Clemson #1 etc.). Rams graded him a starter in that draft. Hopefully he comes back and gives us moreby nantucketramfan - RamsFootballFans.com
