Littleton made nothing for years, Donald made nothing for years, Kupp makes nothing, Woods made and continues to make nothing for years, JJ plays for nothing... Value is everything. The Gurley deal was bad when it was made even if he performed at that level, worse now. But it is done. One of the keys to success in the NFL, i think, is getting more performance per dollar than the other teams.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

Quoteferragamo79 hes a good redzone back, but he is not the same player......he was 20th in rushing. At that monstrous salary, Id rather have another RB This concept of how a running back is different between the red zone and the rest of the field is the key. Is the player physically different? Plays with a different mentality as zn suggested? Or is it not the player but other players, other pby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

Would have to watch all the film to know the real reason, but having more missed tackles could possibly be due to how defenses played against. More 6 man lines--meaning when Gurley passed the line vs those defensive fronts he is facing more dbs and less lbs. Dbs assumed to tackle successfully at a lower rate than a lb in the run game. Lot of assumptions there but when brainstorming a reason forby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Losing Saffold alone is a monstrous change. I agree with not paying Saffold but you lost one of the best running blocking left guards and a dude who played on that line for 2 years. I expect in 2020 we improve significantly but likely not to 2018 levels.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
In the red zone(goal line to +20 yard line) Gurley had 56 attempts(t-2nd) for 164 yards(2nd), and 12 TDs (t-3rd). Filtering out any HB with less than 20 end zone rushing attempts-- Gurley forced 17 missed tackles (1st) by 7. Next, was Chubb, Carson, and Henry at 10. Only Ronald Jones forced missed tackles at Gurley's rate (30%). And Jones had 20 attempts with 6 missed tackles. Next, filby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

Loved the holes he had to run through. Didnt see anything special from Henry, except when he tripped over himself. Saffold is a monster in the run game.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Given the bunch formations alot of snaps a player is lined up beside Whit. Additionally, on all the boots they pass off blocks. We have route designs that incorporate a receiver blocking then going out on the route deceptively. I'd like to see this stat on more pure passing situations--2 and 8, 3 and 6, etc. Not sure how valuable a block win rate stat is when the pocket is rolling to the rightby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Definitely not worth losing Littleton or Fowler. But it wont come to that imo. We will lose one regardless but losing both would be a disaster. I also think moneywise that 8 million carryover might have someone's name on it.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Definitely sign Whit. Still a solid player and a tremendous role model, team guy. No question.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
I think context is important here regarding Gurley's contract. Think back to what was going on in the prior years--the Rams were not signing anyone. Trumaine got franchised consecutively, Janoris didnt get paid, Tree and Quinn(who both signed) got traded, the Donald situation for years.. I remember thinking at the time players are going to wonder if they can get a second contract with the Rams. Tby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
No team wants that contract. Excluding that Gurley's main weakness to me last year was receiving. I blame Goff on that to an extent--Goff seemed incapable most of the year of throwing Gurley an accurate pass. But Gurley running looked fine to me. Especially, inside the ten he looked elite there. The blocking sucked. Losing Saffold, one of the best running block guards in the game, had a major effby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

This is a good example, imo, of how running back performance is driven by the offense and game situations that offense experiences most vs the skill of the rb.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Essentially, the point of doing this at the time of signing is to not affect cap space in the current year. Any signing bonus would add that year's portion to the the current year cap. Whereas, a roster bonus puts the moneys in a subsequent year then you wait until end of current year and essentially adjust the signing bonus--lowering the roster bonus hit by amortizing/spreading it over the remby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Our defense is 6th best in the NFL is scoring drives allowed--36.3% of drives by the opposing offense got points. The NFL average is 39%. If you are going to evaluate defense, evaluate them based on their job--Stopping the other team from scoring points. Best way to stop the other team is to minimize their number of possessions--hello our offense. He lost JJ3, switched from Peters/Talib to Ramby rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com

Understood. Would any rb put in that situation would be evaluated similarly? Are Gurley and Brown are wholly responsible for their rushing output? Did they both simultaneously decline? Gamestate, playcalling and blocking seem significant factors, outside of a rbs control, in deciding a rbs production. Curious still, why you think the run sets up the pass.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
Never would have thought he would have signed for 14 per. I imagine there are alot of surprised Gms, agents, and Cbs out there.Still glad we have moved on but real happy for him.by rampage666 - RamsFootballFans.com
How does the run step up the pass? Have you considered Henderson was 3rd on the depth chart? Or the thought that his expected production timeframe was years 2+ instead of 1? No idea if this is correct but when I evaluate rookie performance anything they produce in their rookie season is a bonus. The expectation for a rookie is make the team and develop.
