No team wants that contract. Excluding that Gurley's main weakness to me last year was receiving. I blame Goff on that to an extent--Goff seemed incapable most of the year of throwing Gurley an accurate pass. But Gurley running looked fine to me. Especially, inside the ten he looked elite there. The blocking sucked. Losing Saffold, one of the best running block guards in the game, had a major effect on the unit. I agree with not signing Saffold but he is a monster in the run game--cant pass block--but he destroys people in the run game. That almost always gave Gurley a cutback lane.
Rams would have to pay a team to take Gurley's contract. The Bengals/Dolphins/etc should call the Rams. Might be worthwhile for the Rams to give up a 4th just to unload the contract. I still think Gurley is an above average back--but that contract is brutal.
