We were the 'visitors' in yesterday's game... so all Kerman fans sat off the visitor side. I, however, live in Tranquillity where the games were played... so I sat on the home field side.

The game began... I had no idea who the announcer was. Some time early in the game I caught something said over the PA... something like -

"Home of world famous coach Jimmy Marchini". I turned to my son-in-law sitting next to me - "Did the announcer just say my name?". My son-in-law giggled.

Maybe 5 minutes later - "We're proud today to have ex-QB for the Los Angeles Rams in the stands with us today... Jimmy Marchini".

Maybe 10 minutes later.... "World famous Hippie Jimmy Marchini joins us today for the Tri-County All Star Games... maker of the worlds best Wind Chimes".

Another 10 minutes.. "Jimmy Marchini... undefeated Flyweight Boxing Championship..... stand up Jimmy and take a bow".

This went on for the entire game. Now keep in mind.. this was an All Star game... every town from Tri-County in attendance... in other words, they had no idea who "Jimmy Marchini" was... except for the Kerman people and a handful of tranquillity fans.

My family told me after the game there were whispers wafting thru the crowd, "Who is Jimmy Marchini? Did he really play QB for the Ram".

I discovered after the game the announcer was a friend from Kerman... Mark... who is not above screwing around when he gets the mic.
