21Dog remembers this guy... played for Fresno St. Dell Hawkins.
New tradition (to be a tradition) started at Kerman High School. All the senior football players pick a Kerman unified employee that has made a huge impact on their life. They ask them to come to their senior night game and give them their jersey to wear at the game. Note: "Employee"... can be a teacher, a bus driver, maintenance person, whomever.
Dell is a teacher. My grandson chose Dell.... to his great surprise... and I'm told the 'tears flowed'. Dell currently coaches at Fresno City College, (asst coach)... but never misses a Kerman HS game if at all possible. Ashton doesn't have to worry about Dell being at his game Friday... Senior Night!
