Don't look for my name. Yes-an alumnus-apparently not "notable".
What's sad for me is that we were an important clog in the L.A. City Schools until the parochial schools took over and many new high schools were built within the same boundary. When I graduated we had over 2500 students. Today there is just over 800. Many parents, concerned over gang activity, etc moved their kids into magnet schools or simply moved out and enrolled in Catholic schools.
As you can see by the list Dorsey had quite the athletic reputation (so many professional athletes in baseball and football) during the 50s, 60, and 70s. Today for the reasons above it simply is dying and has been for several years. I do intend on attending to an 85th anniversary of the school in October but I doubt I can convince my wife to go. She says its just too dangerous. Yet at one time there indeed was a Camelot.
