I was never a big fan of the flying V. They just look awkward to me. But they are kind of "Gibson iconic"... When you have 18 guitars, that doesn't have to be your main one. It can be one that you play now and then, and appreciate it for what it is.
I have a couple that don't offer a lot except for being pretty and cheap. They hang on the wall mostly, but I WILL grab one if I just want to practice something for a few minutes rather than drag out a case.
But... pretty much everyone who knows anything about guitars is somewhat familiar with the Gibson Flying V, and a lot of people who don't. When the subject comes up, you can say, "Yeah, I've got one." At least your leg SORT of matches your black guitar.
