that Gibson V is beautiful... snap that up!
i had Michael Schenker Dean V. I really liked the look and the neck of the guitar, but i found it uncomfortable to play while sitting down when noodling on the guitar, thus I sold it. That thing had some nice sounding hot pickups and looked very cool. I sold to a young kid that absolutely loved UFO ... he was a happy clam
My arsenal:
1980 Gibson Les Paul in Walnut.. i've had it since new. All hardware still original,...... I had it re-fretted 3 years ago... this thing is like new... everyone loves that guitar...
2001 Fender Strat MIM in black with a maple neck.... i had the bridge replaced with a Callaham Bridge and Lindy Fralin pickups with all new electronics, (volume, switches, and jacks) but the neck is getting old.. .not sure if i should re-fret or just slap a different neck on it... price is about the same to replace or re-fret.
2010 Epiphone Les Paul in aged dark sunburst. a beautiful looking guitar that sounds and plays great. just a wonderful guitar to play. unfortunately, despite being 30 years younger than my Gibson, the chrome is pitting on all the chrome, including the pick up covers... i've polished the chrome the best I could, but my 1980 Gibson has no chrome pitting issues whatsoever.
2001 Fender Strat Squire in Candy Apple Red, it's an Australian import that I bought for $100... OK, before you laugh too much, this is my daily player. I pick this thing up almost everyday.... I set this up with 9's and I keep this thing in my back patio or my backyard shed with a battery operated Blackstar Fly amp that sounds surprisingly well.. i also take this thing with me on trips to noodle in my hotel or camping spots... I buy about 6 used Squires per year, set them up to resell them at a decent profit. but I kept this one... at least until I find a better player to thrash.
Ibanez nylon acoustic.... ... i always preferred nylon stings on acoustic guitars.... this used to be my daily player ....until I got the Red Aussie Squire Strat
BTW, have you seen the documentary Hired Guns?.... elite musicians that rotate to support huge acts... great documentary.
Also, i wasn't a big fan of Ozzy, but i found that the Randy Rhoads documentary was very very good. He and Eddie VH were the guitar legends in LA in the late 70's that were in "competition"... i really enjoyed that documentary, it exceeded my expectations..... terrible ending that could've easily been avoided.
