i got fed up with a neurologist regarding my neck surgery and stormed to the front desk, told them to give me a refund, and walked out.. The doctor actually personally called to apologize.. that's kind of unheard of..

My deal now is I only schedule appointments EARLY in the morning.. nothing after 10am.. that way they can't be super late because they haven't seen enough patients to be too late.. I mostly try to be the FIRST appointment of the day.. that way, if he's late, its totally on him with no excuses...
