about Lead Singers that is. In all the years I played we didn't have to search for a lead singer often, maybe 3 or 4 times, but when we did my experience with lead singers miimic's your experience. They are not normal. 
If I had to choose one word to define them it would be 'demanding'. Being 'demanding' didn't fly well with us so the few lead singers we brought in didn't last long.
