could be a massive gig that gets you signed.. you never know whos in the crowd... I'm sure you'll end on a great note no matter where you play it.. the great ones always go out with a bang, even tho I have a feeling your last gig with THIS band won't be your last..
So, I went to a funeral the other day.. a guy who's wife just died (they were in their forties) sat next to me.. he's a drummer.. he asked what I was doing musically and I told him - he knew because he asked me a few months ago.. he REALLY wants to lay my drums down in the studio.. so, we have been discussing it..
He brought up an issue that will probably seal the deal.. We are both friends with Jaret Reddick From Bowling For Soup.. a local band that made it big, and are still rolling.. Jaret also is the voice of Chuck E Cheese, if you ever go to Chuck E Cheese.. the drummer said he could get Jaret to do the vocals on my project.. I have considered asking Jaret, but didn't wanna, you know, beg... but the drummer says Jaret lays vox down on the drummer's other project and thinks he would do mine, as well..
So, if Jaret is onboard, I might actually be able to get somewhere with my tunes.. maybe, maybe not.. but I'd have a HUGE advantage in having a guy like that do my stuff.. So, keep your fingers crossed...
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
