I did this video a few years ago.. I called it "ambush predator with a camera".. because I spot a shark, then take an intercept path to where I think he's gonna head.. From a strictly hunting perspective, these two shark would be toast if I were hunting them.. So, yeah, I could do that - I just couldn't pull any trigger other than on a camera..
M other hunting experiences are with Lionfish, which had inadvertently infiltrated the Caribbean, with no natural predators.. So, we kill every on we find on dives because its the only way to keep them in check.. they destroy the reefs and kill all the fish, so absolutely necessary to kill every one you see in the Caribbean.. Its pretty common for me to hunt them, find them, and then call the dive master with the spear gun over to dispatch it.. All the dive masters know my signal: I make a gun with my right hand/index finger and make a shooting motion.. I've probably sentenced 400-500 Lionfish to die.. we killed 125 on one dive, alone.. but, its not all for nothing.. after that dive they prepared ceviche with the Lionfish.. the island manager actually got stung on the hand by a dead one as we stuff all the dead ones into empty 5 gallon water bottles..
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
