There are times I think doctors and vets go with whatever diagnosis makes them the most money.. There are more laws and stuff in place for humans, but very little regulation for pets and animals.. My wife and I were talking about this last night.. we both had the same thought: that had they removed her leg and it NOT been bone cancer, I would have punched the vet in the face.. she outdid me and said she would have burned their building down..
I'm starting to think that no matter what the diagnosis, if its a big deal, get a second opinion.. always get a second opinion.. one fo the vet techs today said she was SO happy that we decided to send the x-ray to another radiologist for a second opinion.. we told her we didn't do that.. our vet sent it to the radiologist without consulting us about it.. that tells me she wasn't very confident in her diagnosis.. thank goodness she sent it off because were would have just believed her..
