Well that went about as....

good as it possibly could..

They did the cranial drawer test on Mauie and she HAS a torn ACL.. They did an x-ray, at their won cost, to compare with the x-ray of two weeks ago.. The "bone cancer" lesion has gotten remarkably better.. meaning it wasn't bone cancer cuz that doesn't get better on its own.. So, Mauie will go to a specialist next Thursday to sign up for ACL surgery..

My dog will have more in common with half the Rams WR corps than any other dog yay!

So, we are ecstatic.. its such a relief.. BUT... this was all caused by a misdiagnosis by one of the most expensive Vets in town.. She even admitted today that she saw the lesion on the x-ray, immediately decided it was bone cancer, and didn't even LOOK for anything else.. Had she not sent the x-ray to a radiologist, who said it wasn't bone cancer, Mauie would probably already have had her leg amputated.. for nothing..

So, I'm THRILLED and PISSED at the same time.. I prayed for an ACL and my prayers were answered, but it should never have even been in question.. Mauie's surgery is with another local Vet - ours doesn't do ACL surgeries - which, at this point, is a relief to me..

Now the issue is Mauie is having trouble with the anesthesia.. She still hasn't really woken up and is barely breathing with a heart rate of 40 BPM.. We're thinking the Vet gave her too much anesthesia or not enough reversing meds.. I think we have some decisions to make regarding Vets after Mauie's surgery..
