Really really glad to hear it was her ACL and not bone cancer. I can only imagine your relief but can also understand why you're pi$$ed and frustrated with the vet for misdiagnosing in the first place. I understand their human... but doggone it... we trust they are knowledgeable and good at what they do. We NEED them to be smart and accurate and to truly care about giving the best possible care to their patients.

I've used the same vet for the past 25 years. When my current Juneau was about a year old, he told me there was something wrong with her hip, that she would require surgery and then tole me she'd need some kind of injections for the rest of her life along with a special diet for the rest of her life. Now, I'm not a medical person of any kind and typically if a doctor tells me something needs to be done... I go along with it. Something told me not to go along with what the vet was saying. I told him I didn't want the surgery, that I hadn't seen anything wrong in her legs at all and that I wanted to wait. Well... that was 7 years ago. There is nothing wrong with her legs and hips, she's been very healthy all this time, and although she's seen the vet many times for annual checkups, blood work, and teeth cleaning, the vet has never said another word about it which makes me wonder where the heck he got the idea in the first place.

Sometimes you just have to be your own best advocate and go with your own gut and instincts.

Please let us know what happens with her surgery. Again... this is really good news.
