Spent my last years at Cecil Field....the former Naval Base, as a Crash Firefighter. Boeing still has rework facilities there. There is one hangar / facility that they don't even want the Fire Dept to nose around. In early 2020, not long at all after TG 2 was done filming, the plane that Maverick used was sent to Cecil to get it "fleet ready" again. It was there for 3-4 months.
