One of the coolest things I did as a kid was being inside Disneyland before the gates opened.

So if you wonder how a kid was inside before the gates opened, it was easy. My dad worked for Upjohn and worked in the pharmacy on Main street for the first 5 years Disneyland was open. Mom dad and my sister and a cousin all went to the pre grand opening of Disneyland. Anyway back in the 60s ( after he left Upjohn) my dad was able toarrange it, we didn't enter through the main gates and were inside the Upjohn Pharmacy before the gates opened with strict instructions to remain out of sight. So we stood behind the counter peeking over the top and watched kids and adults run down Main Street. Then we went to the rides and got special treatment on some rides/attractions. At the Matterhorn a buddy of my dads' took us to the front of the line , at The Golden Horseshoe Revue we showed up just before Showtime and were escorted to great seats I forget what other rides we got preferential trestment.

I was also on a ride when a person died and at the park when a person drown.
So I've got great memories and sad ones at Disneyland.

On a side note my dad believes part of Disneyland is on a cemetery that wasn't relocated. He remembers driving by the cemetery one day and the next day heavy equipment was working on the land.
