I'd be curious to know the back story of what transpired. I bet Michael Landon was ready to continue the series after season nine but NBC probably said no. The movies are the closure. We just got those yesterday (All three in one DVD box) Gonna watch those over the next couple of days and THEN start The Waltons.
Though many of the people have passed away, it'd be cool if the surviving cast did just one more or two movies. It would have to take place in the 1930s, I think.
